Heroes
It is my personal belief and conviction that there are no heroes anymore. There are only those that are controlled, and those doing the controlling. Thus, there is only salvation and redemption.
I would like to introduce you to something that is far more sinister
and decadent than you could possibly imagine. When passing down a
small dirt road, occasionally you'll see a sign. To most passerbys,
these signs serve as landmarks to your destination.
However, in some cases, these destinations are skewered into an
alternate reality unseen but by the most daring adventurers.
Sometimes, you may pass them by without ever knowing that you've been
there. If this is the case, be glad you're still here.
Specifically, what I would like to introduce you to is a Town called
Price. This is a place that you pray in your wildest dreams you never
come across.
What's so bad about that, you ask? What could possibly go wrong?
The answer is that you may never make it back alive to tell the tale.
In some cases, your personal history may be erased entirely from
existence. To some, this may be a godsend: A place to start over,
and make amends with yourself, your sins, and to those around you.
However, the salvation is bittersweet, as it is given. It just
depends on how much you are willing to sacrifice to keep it.
If you are unfortunate enough to stay, your life will always be in
jeopardy: A delicate balance between total control and collapse. If
you make it out alive, consider yourself lucky as you may never want
to return.
The choice is yours. Redemption must come from within.
At this point time, there are few. I prefer to keep to myself, much like a hermit. The reason for this should be obvious, but I will elaborate further.
I do not consider myself a man of any particular religious conviction. The reason being is that humans have completely misconstrued fantasy, morality, and sin into something that is far removed from their original meanings and teachings.
No matter where you look, or who you turn to, people are always eager to pass the buck in a feeble attempt to vindicate themselves from the sins of their forefathers. Not to say that religion doesn't play an important part in society, as obviously it does, since church and state have never been truly separate despite what others will have you believe.
This is not meant as a detractment to any specific religion or cult, but rather all of them. While the teachings have been written with the sincerest intent to help humans understand their surroundings and better themselves, it is often through misinterpretation, corruption, and greed that these original principles and disciplines ultimately prove to be nothing more than a fairy tale.
With this in mind, I find it unfortunate that I agree with Karl Marx on several key points. In the end, you will find yourself having nobody in which to turn for guidance. It is through this that religion is the opiate of the masses. What religion is exactly will never be left for me to decide, but for you.
I would strongly recommend that before reading any of my works that you look deep inside of yourself first and ask, "Am I comfortable being me?"
If the answer is yes, then you may proceed. If the answer is no, I would suggest that you turn back now.
