"Robert's Music is very listenable" - Richard Owers (M-A-C Services Music Management)
I am 18 years old and will be finishing my two year BTEC in Music at The BRIT School this coming May.
I started playing piano when I was very young, and still I play and compose by ear. I also sing and produce my own work, as well for other up and coming singer songwriters in Sweden, Norway, USA & Israel.
Having given up on formal piano lessons many years ago and in between studying music, I have singing lessons at The BRIT School. I have been trained to sing in various genres ranging from my own comfort zone to swing, ballads to opera. My voice is best described as alto-baritone. I feel privileged to be trained and taught by the very talented Caroline Herail.
My own work varies from slow to fast moving modern pop ballads, and I deliberately ensure that my work is reasonably easy to orchestrate. I have a burning passion to have some of my work used in film scores as well as for open stage, Singers and recorded performances.
Aside of my own work, I really enjoy singing cover sings of The Rat Pack, as well as the work of Elton John, Michael Buble, & Neil Sedaka. I really enjoy singing and performing Cole Porters’ work, which is truly brilliantly composed.
I find that to perform and sing the above genres properly requires musical discipline, timing and a reasonable vocal interpretation of the song to make it sound as it was intended.
I try to ensure that my compositions, (ballads or musical theatre), have as wide an appeal both age group wise and culturally. I believe music is a great leveller and can break through difficult barriers and boundaries, no matter how high.
In mid 2008, one of my musical theatre songs “Coming Home” was successfully performed in The Bloomsbury Theatre London, and at The Fairfield Halls Croydon, by the BRIT School Music strand, Musical Theatre, Dance & Theatre Strands.
The BRIT School put on a annual production called “The Silent Streets” at The Fairfield Halls, Croydon, and The Bloomsbury Theatre, Camden, North London. (Please see the Brit Digital Arts Video on my Profile).
The storyline was based around evacuated children, returning home after the second world war had ended.
I was asked to write the central theme song entitled “Coming Home” which was performed at both the above venues by a full cast to over 3000 people!
I should mention that my Dad, Philip, helps writing many of my lyrics, including Coming Home, Summer Feeling, Once Again and many other numbers. He is always around to offer guidance and constructive criticism of my new and recorded work before it gets performed or recorded.
In the summer of 2007, we entered the UK Song-Writing Contest, which is judged by music industry professionals. We entered ten separate items, five songs and five sets of lyrics. The end result was seven “Semi-Finalist” awards and three “Highly Commended” for all of our ten entries. Not a bad result considering the vast competition we were up against.
Under the Pop genre the following songs were entered: Summer Feeling, Out Of This World, Mosaic*, Once Again and Sandra's Song.
*The Lyrics for Mosaic were written by Lauren John. I composed all of the music and sang all of the songs. Mosaic reached the semi finals in both the Pop Genre, and in the Lyrics Only category for Lauren.
The following song Lyrics written by Philip, (my Dad) made it to the semi finals:
Once Again, and Summer Feeling.
The Lyrics for Out of this World and Sandra's Song both were rated as “Highly Commended”.
Dad and I continue to write together, though I do collaborate with other singer songwriters.
We haven’t since 2007 entered the UK Song writing Contest, as I am either tied up with my studies, and when I am not studying, I am recording (myself and others) or performing around London and the South East.
I hope you will enjoy all of my work sung on this site, and would appreciate your candid comments on any aspect of my work, either at this site or at www.robertjerome.co.uk

Just checking your profile and I noticed your songs are being marketed from some big venues like iTunes. Glad to see that. Congratulations. Hope you sell a lot of music.
Hi Robert,
I'm like asleep this week. LOL How are you? I think I saw you on a day ago, but I was heading out. Trying to stay up with the people I've met on here. Oi vey is it time consuming! Were you making an album, as well you should? I'm on my cell now and writing. My thumb moves by itself. I think it's a skill to put on my resume.LOL
Love ya mate!
Christopher
P.S. Barry is in England soon. www.manilowuk.com Mark Worall does a great job on it. We do e-mail, which is cool.
Yeah Robert, def a bit of the Jonas Bros evident in 'So What Ya Wanna Know' - nice song well done & keep it up:)! Good luck & all the best from Paul:)!
Thanks for replying back to the comment from yesterday and alerting me to the new song. WOW, that's amazing. So different than how I normally hear you and yet it worked really nicely.
You know what I like about you besides your talent? You're not afraid to experiment and take chances like you did on this song and yeah it may sound like the Jonas Brothers but I actually like them and saw them perform last summer. They are very successful in pop music and yet I can listen to beautiful ballads the next moment. That's what I love about music. To me I can listen to anything and hearing what you did definitely shows how in depth you can take it, which is good.
I'm still hoping that this brings you the record deal you truly deserve or a chance for someone to pick up one of your songs and make it a big hit. Like I've said before, it will happen and I'm very certain of that with all the wonderful talent you display both as a songwriter and a performer. It's not a question of "if" but "when".
Hope you have a great summer Robert. Maybe a summer theme next?
Hey Robert loving the 2 new songs on your myspace they are just absolutely sensational. i love them. the lyrics and the backing tracks to the songs are just wow mind blowing and breath taking. keep up the fantastic work hun love kyrie xxxxx
I came here just now for some good cheer and a smile, like I always get from your myspaces. I really enjoyed Hold My Hand which cheered me up after a very sad weekend with the news of Michael Jackson passing away.
I wrote you a personal message which goes into more detail but this loss reminds me of when Elvis died when I was 14 and three yrs later when John Lennon was murdered.
Michael Jackson is a tremendous loss and the outpouring of emotions is very similar to what I saw when Elvis and John died all those years ago.
It was nice hearing your new song and it helped. Michael was only 4 years older than me and I saw him progress from an amazing child singer to a superstar as an adult.
You will probably never see anyone with this type of celebrity linked to an individual again. Michael did it all and his dancing left you in awe. He did it all and yet suffered so much in all the accusations brought against him. I wonder how much was money motivated and what really happened.
Michael helped a lot of kids with cancer and other illnesses and I find it hard to believe that this man would have hurt any child. He certainly was found innocent in a court of law, but we will just never know. I have this music and memories to remember him by that takes center stage. It's just hard to block out the other stuff and you can't help thinking of it at this time either.
Hope this message finds you will and again congratulations on your new music. It sounds wonderful as usual with everything else you pour your heart and devotion to.
Oh my. Oh my. The new song is elegantly new. I think your voice changed a bit or you worked to make it sound softer. I sank into my computer chair. Drop me a line in messages, OK? How could I get a hold of your new ballad?
the family is all good thanks 4 asking hope the same for you. I just wrote and recorded a song for a DJ here who asked me to come up with a new theme song for his radio show. He's gonna use it for the opening of his show. I'll be up-loading it to my player later on.
you're welcome Robert. Brendan calls you the British Barry! I guess thats a good thing LOL I've been accepted to Grammy Camp again 3rd year in a row and I'll be starting College this Aug @ USC in LA for music.
