It is a fairly common story that throughout America; many cities have hidden in their nighttime shadows some very exciting and prolific jazz musicians who, for seemingly no obvious reason, have not been discovered or noticed on a national level. Rob Popescu certainly fits this category of great but unheralded jazz artists.
Rob is one of the most electrifying and talented young guitarists on the music scene today. His dynamic and sophisticated playing can be found on Back to Business, a CD released in 2003 by his former band the Modern Guitar Quinet. The Modern Guitar Quintet received enthusiastic praise from journalists, musical peers and fans alike. They represent the extensive depth of his musicianship as he continues to evolve.
He can be found playing in numerous venues across the state of Arizona.
