Nothing describes Robert Tepper better than these words. .. Robert Tepper was born and raised in New Jersey and later moved to New York where he attended Manus School of Music. He later became a staff songwriter and met singer Benny Mardones. Together they wrote Mardones’ mega hit ‘Into the Night’ which reached the Top 10 earning them a Grammy Awards nomination. Robert relocated to Los Angeles and signed a recording deal with Scotti Brothers. Actor Sylvester Stallone heard ‘No Easy Way Out’ and chose to use it in his film Rocky 1V and its soundtrack. That song became one of the year's biggest hits reaching the Top 20 on Billboard. Years later it would be covered by the hard rock group Bullet For My Valentine. Robert’s debut album was released shortly thereafter-in 1986 and featured the singles ‘No Easy Way Out’ and ‘Don’t Walk’. In 1988 he released his sophomore effort ‘Modern Madness’ which included the single ‘The Unforgiven’. Both albums were produced by Joe Chicarelli (Elton John, Frank Zappa, The White Stripes, U2). .. After recovering from record company “politics” he joined a reformed version of Iron Butterfly as their lead singer and the group performed on the West Coast. In 1996, Robert released his third solo album ‘No Rest For The Wounded Heart’ on MTM Records in Europe. He later signed a publishing deal and worked as a songwriter in Nashville collaborating with some of the best writers out there. In addition to Benny Mardones, Robert has written songs recorded by Pat Benatar, Australian superstar Russell Morris, Paul Anka, Samantha Sang, Danny Tate, amongst others. As a diversified and in-demand songwriter he has collaborated with Grammy winner Jeff Silbar (“Wind Beneath My Wings”), Steve Pocaro (Toto), Mark Goldenberg (Jackson Browne), Michele Vice-Maslin, Phil Galdston and many others. In recent years he has taken on the title of producer and re-mixer working with a vast array of domestic and international artists. His music today continues to be heard in film and television. .. Robert has gone back to the basics with his songwriting and his new material is being described as “acoustic singer-songwriter with an electric tinge”. He is currently working on a new album drawing on influence from singer-songwriters of the past as well as today’s contemporaries. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .................... -
