Congressman Robert Wexler is serving his sixth term in the United States House of Representatives, where he has proudly represented Florida's 19th Congressional District since 1996. In the past ten years, he has become one of the most articulate and influential Members of Congress, advocating passionately for issues such as improving public education, fighting for a meaningful Medicare prescription drug plan for America's seniors, working to make America safer against terror and enhancing peace and security around the globe.

Congressman Wexler has introduced legislation on a wide array of issues, ranging from strengthening gun control, freezing President Bush's 2001 tax cuts to pay for a Medicare prescription drug plan, comprehensively reforming Florida's electoral system, ensuring that reservists receive adequate compensation while fighting overseas, and protecting the environment, to calling for an investigation into pre-war intelligence regarding Iraq's alleged weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Congressman Wexler has advocated for these issues at both the local and national level, including appearances on numerous television programs such as CNN's Crossfire, Larry King Live, NBC's Meet the Press and the Today Show and ABC's Nightline. Congressman Wexler's reputation as a "rhetorical warrior" and active lawmaker earned him the title of "50 Most Effective Legislators in Congress" by the influential magazine Congressional Quarterly.

Directly following the aftermath of the 2000 Presidential election, Congressman Wexler initiated comprehensive election reforms nationwide and was a leading sponsor of legislation that would modernize Florida's election system; he helped to increase resources for training poll workers and enhanced voter education. Wexler is also working closely with Florida Governor Charlie Crist on his proposal to mandate a voter verified "paper trail" for every vote cast in Florida.

Congressman Wexler also serves as Chairman of the Europe Subcomitee on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and is a co-founder and co-chairman of the Congressional Caucus on U.S.-Turkish Relations, the Congressional Taiwan Caucus and the Indonesia Caucus. He is also an active member of the India Caucus and the Serbia Caucus. Congressman Wexler has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East in an effort to deepen America's economic, military and political alliances throughout the world. He also serves on the Taskforce on Anti-Semitism and has been one of the most influential members of Congress in urging the European Union to fight anti-Semitism and promote an atmosphere of religious tolerance in all EU Member States.

Congressman Wexler has also been actively involved in the Middle East and Israel, where he has been a strong supporter of U.S. engagement in the region as a means of finding a lasting and sustainable peace. As the only Member of the House to attend the signing of the Wye River Peace Agreement and one of two U.S. lawmakers to travel to the International Court of Justice at The Hague, Congressman Wexler has been an outspoken advocate of Middle East peace and Israel's right to self-defense.

Congressman Wexler serves on the House Judiciary Committee as well as the Internet and Intellectual Property Subcommittee. He is the co-founder and co-chairman of the Congressional Caucus on Intellectual Property and Piracy Prevention, and serves as one of the leading voices in Washington for combating piracy and intellectual property violations domestically and abroad. Wexler was also recently appointed by Speaker Pelosi to serve on the House Financial Services Committee where he will focus on finding solutions to the insurance crisis occuring in Florida.

Prior to being elected to Congress, Wexler served as a State Senator in the Florida Legislature for six years. He moved to South Florida with his family at 10 years of age from Queens, New York. Wexler has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Florida and earned his law degree from George Washington University. Congressman Wexler and his wife, Laurie, have three children.

Paid for by Wexler for Congress.

Pentagon cannot account for $2 billion in anti-terror funds to Pakistan --Overall, the U.S. has paid $5.6 billion to reimburse the country for counter-terrorism expenses, a GAO report says. 25 Jun 2008 The United States has paid more than $5 billion to reimburse Pakistan for counter-terrorism expenses that have often been exaggerated, if not fabricated, according to a government audit released Tuesday that blasts the Pentagon for poor management of the program. The report concluded that the Pentagon could not properly account for as much as $2 billion in payments to Pakistan over a three-year period from 2004 to 2007. Auditors uncovered an array of questionable costs, including $45 million for roads and bunkers that may never have been built; $200 million for the operation of air defense systems even though Al Qaeda [al-CIAduh] has no known aircraft; and overcharges for meals and vehicles used by Pakistani troops.

Barack Obama believes we can unite people around a politics that puts solving challenges of everyday Americans ahead of partisan calculation and special interest politics.

Iraq: Obama opposed the war in Iraq from the beginning and has a plan to responsibly end the war. Obama would immediately begin to pull out troops engaged in combat operations and pressure the Iraqi government to reconcile. He would call for a new constitutional convention with the United Nations. In addition, he would take immediate steps to confront the humanitarian disaster in Iraq.

Healthcare: Obama will sign legislation by the end of his first term in office that will provide quality affordable and portable health care to every single America. His plan will save a typical family up to $2,500 every year by providing health coverage for every American, modernizing the US health care system to contain cost, promoting prevention, and strengthening public health.

(CONTINUED FROM LAST COMMENT)
I am an American first and a Democrat second and it is un-American to ever vote for someone as hot headed, arrogant, self centered, inexperienced, dishonest, disingenuous, antipathetic towards America, American history and American government, self entitled, self serving, disrespectful, out of touch, unfamiliar, unknown, unaccountable, calculating, deceptive, underhanded and divisive as Barack and Michelle Obama are. Obama is more like George Bush than McCain could ever be. Obama could not give you a straight answer to save his life, just like Bush!
The complacency of the Democratic party believing just any so called Democratic candidate will win the General Election is only setting your own selves and the Democratic Party up for failure and deservingly so.
The DNC does not want Hillary but they sure want access to her 18 MILLION voters! Have fun trying because you have failed all of them and they are ready to return the favor in Nov! Obama could not have clinched the nomination despite his lead in delegates without the Super Delegates, therefore, Obama was handed the nomination by party insiders, NOT by the POPULAR VOTE & THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE!
So good luck because you are going to need plenty of it. Where there is a “will of the people,” there is a way!
Gina

Jun 5 2008 5:09 AM

Mr. Wexler,
I have supported you for the last year all the way from Texas because I believe in your cause when you pledged along with many other Democrats to have President Bush & VP Cheney impeached or held accountable for their actions, which you and the Democratic Party have ultimately failed to do.
I can no longer support you or the Democratic Party due to your lack of leadership and ability to fulfill your promises or pledges to your constituencies. I also can no longer support you because of your blatant participation of bamboozling votes from your own voters whom you represent and ultimately voters from the entire nation, which is the opposite of democracy which you claim to represent.
You have failed half of your own party! Since you think your Democratic voters are only worth a half of a vote, then don't wonder what happened when you lose half of the Democratic Party. What you and the rest of the DNC have done to Hillary is disgraceful! I have been a life long Democrat but will be changing to Independent. I am sure you will find out very soon that I am not alone! I hope you are real proud of your self as you have failed miserably. You say the Bush Administration is so bad, then why won't you or Speaker pathetic Pelosi IMPEACH him? Because you want to prey and exploit those of us who are apathetic to ensure your win with a pathetic candidate! Shame on all of you, I do not know how you sleep at night! Blame yourselves when this country regresses, not progresses as it definitely will with Obama! I am so ashamed to have ever called myself a Democrat with the likes of people like you in this party!

to I support Obama girl. Why did Bush let NO drown? So he could test his plan to control a major city with FEMA. He didn't send troops to help, he sent them to practice patrolling a major US city. why do you think they were kicking in doors and taking everyone's guns. Disarmed all the law abiding citizens. Why are there international troops practicing with US troops in America. They are going to Indianapolis next. Why did the presidant pass his new law to take over the entire government. Anything he thinks is a national security/terror attack puts him and FEMA in control of everything and troops in your neighborhood. Have you heard ? Constitution of the USA is on the endangered species list. think about it. the "terrorists" attacked us for our freedoms, so we'll just take them away. Did you vote for that? Oh and Obama is a snake and Mccain is a lying fool. He's already stated he doesn't know anything about economics and his strong point is the war but he keeps disproving that daily. Clinton.....nope. They are all in bed together. The only truthful guy up there was Ron Paul and they did all they could to keep him out. Read people and don't watch FOX news.

what are your views on gun control and do younwant to get rid of them? that's what the NWO wants. I agree with your stance on investigating Iraq, they should go back to 9/11. Yes, I said it. If our gov't would make a lie to get into Vietnam, Iraq and now Iran, why would people be in denial about 9/11. look at the facts.

The Michelle Tape

by BooMan
Sun Jun 1st, 2008 at 11:57:57 PM EST
My old friend, Larry Johnson, knows about manipulating elections from his training with the Central Intelligence Agency. He doesn't want Obama to win the nomination for whatever reason, and he's in full propaganda mode to do everything he can to frighten the superdelegates. He claims to have a shocking tape of Michelle Obama ranting in some anti-white diatribe. He promises to produce this tape tomorrow at 9am.

From what I understand, it is a tape of Michelle Obama criticizing the Bush administration.

How you'd write it:

Why did Bush cut folks off medicaid?
Why did Bush let New Orleans drown?
Why did Bush do nothing about Jena?
Why did Bush put us in Iraq for no reason?

How you'd say it:

Why'd he cut folks off medicaid?
Why'd he let New Orleans drown?
Why'd he do nothing about Jena?
Why'd he put us in Iraq for no reason?

How Larry Johnson wants you to hear it:

Whitie cut folks off medicaid?
Whitie let New Orleans drown?
Whitie do nothing about Jena?
Whitie put us in Iraq for no reason?

I'm going to be honest with you. Both SusanHu and Larry Johnson have been friends of mine. They have both done a lot for me and I am grateful and indebted to them. Any issues I've had with their activities in this election I have kept private. I haven't visited their site in four months because I found it too personally painful to read what they were writing and I did not want to be tempted to respond. I thought I owed them that. But loyalty can only go so far. If they publish this allegation tomorrow, I wil

Please take a moment from your day. Click the link, sit back, listen to the music. This country of ours is quite the beautiful place regardless of all the negatives so often focused upon or carried out.

You see my friends, democracy, progress, is about participation, determination and you yourself.

Stand Up. There will always be people offering you chairs if you merely were to stand. There will always be those urging your silence, giving you reason to doubt, giving you reason to feel discouraged, to drain you or hurt you emotionally...at times it seems in politics...intellectually, perhaps even ideologically.

We must remember something in this great country of ours I have found is quite true. We gain our strength not only individually, but it takes upon phenomenal proportions when combined and does have the ability to multiply exponentially. Its that we gain much strength in our diversity as a nation.

Let us not forget what binds us together. It is love, it is hope, it is a belief in something better which may give us the inspiration, strength and determination to fight for what we dream we can make the future. To make sure we give back and keep our promise to the old, and in doing so provide for the many generations to come.

Let us all take a moment and reflect on what we share in common and the beauty that is America, our views, our values our culture. Rich in compassion, responsibility, empathy, individuality and community, strength, love and balance.

G-d Bless The United States of America.

The era of procrastination has past and the time to lead has begun.

Sincerely,

Jeremy K.
