"This music transcends the boundaries of time and space. It almost floats." - (Alpha Music Group)
About myself and my music:
I play Woodlands, Plains, and Lakota style flutes (in keys of low A to high C) in traditional Native American style. I also write song/instruction books for 6 hole and 5 hole flutes and design my windpony flutes in various soft, hard, and exotic woods. If you're interested in learning more, follow the links below.
When I record or perform in concert, each song is different every time. I feel that my playing is guided by spirit. My journeys between the deserts, high plateaus and mountains of the southwest form the foundation of my music.
Why Native Jazz?
What makes Jazz..Jazz is the freeform way in which it is played.
Jazz is composed as it is played and is the most natural , spontaneous music. Ancient native american flute players had no written music, they played from the heart, expressing thier emotions and desires thru thier flutes. I called my style of play Native Jazz because, not only do I compose as I play, but I play without the use of mechanically contrived "nature" sounds or other instruments.
How are you on this fine Autumn day?!?! It's beautiful, sunny & 68 here! The cotton has finally burst open and you can see fields of white all around here. Our fall colors are just now peeking. It's so beautiful in the mountains around my house & the best way to experience fall is on foot or horseback! The Multicolored Asian Lady Beetles are everywhere here. The Gov't. drops thousands by planes every fall. They get inside the house, your bed. They bite too! I miss my humming birds. I call them my sugar babies & neighbors call me the Sugar MaMa. LOL They have all migrated on now. I had about 40 regulars this year! They even fed from my hand! But they always come back in April. October ended with me in a 'Soul Train Line Dance' to the music "Monster Mash". LOL You would have laughed your head off at me. November arrived with a very crisp chilled air & thick fog! It was like walking in the clouds. I'm really looking forward to the holidays, the family gatherings, and the food! I've been digging out some of my favorite harvest recipes. The traditional along with new ones other women has shared with me.

Wishing you a great weekend! Looks like it's going to be a creepy wet & windy evening here with storms. I've got cookies baking and I'm about to go enjoy some fireside coffee and beat my son at a game of chess. LOL Saturday morning is our retro “big breakfast” day and I'm preparing a breakfast Frittata and home-made bisciuts & jam. Drop in if you're in the neighborhood! I got cartoons! :)
Coming by to wish you a good week and hope your weekend went well and of course safe. We have been under heavy rain and thunder storms since yesterday. Today has been stronger then most, but all is good, Mother Earth is talking. Take care and be safe, Blessings on the wind my friend
