Video from the first No.15 music night ever
thanks to Phasing Hz/Web Cats/The Juice for this video! :)
I come from Penrith, Cumbria but am currently studying Folk & Traditional Music at Newcastle University, and loving it. Looking for gigs around the North East and the North West. These tunes above are fairly old, but I'm in the middle of trying to get some new recordings on the go! I also DJ reggae/dub/funk/soul. If you want to contact me email me on rob_heron@hotmail.co.uk
cheers
The TGM Awards 2009 is coming! The nominations have been announced for the sixth annual awards and we can confirm that Rob Heron has 2 nominations, for:
* Best North Cumbria Act * Best Solo Act
The poll opens on Friday 20th November 2009 and will close on Friday 18th December 2009.
Thanks for playing so beautifully tonight... I know it ain't easy being first but you got us off to a great start. I loved your stuff arranged with the other two guys - Colin's accordion playing was soooo sensitive, I was really impressed - and your new songs are FAB. Loads of people commented to me how lovely your voice is, too!
Hope to see you soon, and hope you'll come to the next Elevator Folk!! Fran xxx
I have all intentions of popping to Macfest, Gwen Hechle is doing a set there and is introducing the world to my latest masterpiece, "Self Pity". Fame at last! I also am trying to scrounge a lift off Rantin' Reg of the Bag of Spanners for their gig at Edenfest. Who knows?
And so items of iconic longevity must be preserved, in whatever form is available at the time and using the contemporary technology. Hey, Rob, I've got Robin Hall and Jimmie McGregor on vinyl going back to 1961! With Leon Rosselson! Must I ruin the LP by over-playing it?. Call me the new Cecil Sharpe! Hey, Rob, thanks for the comment. And if we ever meet up again, please let me record you. O.K., it'll be in PCM format, but what the hell! Cheers, Comrade
Though I'm nobut a bairn, I do remember Soft Machine being the first non-classical line-up to appear at the Proms. It would have been in Wyatt's era with the band.
Man, you're too straight. Think laterally and be lateral. To see what isn't there, makes me a blubbering prophet, annoyed with the rest of the world. Sed enuff. Alsithi in the bar!
Hi, Rob. Hope to bump into you at the week-end (probably literally, knowing my propensity for the wobbly water). But try not to make me cry this year! Can you see my little friend in the wall from last year?
