Most people who know my playing heard it in various bands over the years, baby harp seal and month of birthdays being the most notable, (some stuff is still available if you hunt it down) but for the last few years I've been playing acoustic music much more. Although there was a side of a split seven inch under the name Castles and Car Wrecks in the mid nineties and i've played as a support on various tours I guess it was seen as a sideline. Back in my native Lancashire at the turn of the century, with the post-modern dream rolling on I found in the world of sessions, jamming and just having a good time with music you can save at least some of your sanity. Played some loud, heavy, electric still but was getting into playing solo around Lancaster and had a residency up in Kendal so the balance kind of shifted. I recently recorded my arrangements of some Lancashire folk songs, three of which you may download from this page.
I left behind my beloved bay area about a year ago to live in west yorkshire because of my role as lead guitarist in Threads, check out the page via my 'friends'.Felt like I had to start my acoustic life from scratch again, but I've found some stalwart late night sessionaires to drink and sing with and played a few shows. I'm always on the scout for gigs but I'm just as happy at a pub or party, in fact maybe that's when the real music gets played anyway.
Hope you dig the songs, peace 'n' love 'n' all the good stuff xxx

Morning Dr Robert. A little light spamming before luncheon??
There will be a cracking, crackling gig on Wednesday night, featuring the all-written words and work of Natural Causes , the very warm and wonderful Ruby In The Dust, and the variously shattered collective conciousness of the Wierd String Band.
If that doesn't say 'variety', I don't know what does.
Festivities will be taking place at the Collegiate Club, Lancaster (for those of you who know Lancaster, that's just behind Wilkinsons, on the way to Dalton Square). There may be a small entry fee, but this will doubtless reflect the high quality of the evening. Doubtless.
