Interests

  • General

Let me see, I'm a husband, dad, programmer, gamer, role-player, author, and Ghost Hunter...my interests tend to vary, but yet I'm happy and always doing something.
First and formost, my family, with them they are my dream come true. They are my life and all I do is for them in some way. I have no problem spending time with them, whether being sitting outside talking, going to the park, camping together, sitting around playing 4 player Call of Duty, or linking with Quake 4, we enjoy our time.

Togethere, we like camping, I mean real camping (not at some fancy campsite with trailers, tv, and showers), I mean with a tent in the woods away from everyone else. Doesn't fit much with the geek side of me, but at times one needs to get away and spend time with momma nature to truly understand the real way of things.
We spend alot of time in the Allegheny National Forest camping. When lazy, find us at Wolfs Den Resort or Cook's Forest.
When not in the wilds, I enjoy Role-playing and since I'm a geek I enjoy the Electronic World which includes PC & Video Games, and Programming.
Also I enjoy lounging around watching movies or my favorite shows (see below), or reading something from one of my favorite authors (or a book I picked up 'cause it just sounded good).
I also love to spend time listening to music (Music is always playing in some form or another in the house)
"Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent." ~Victor Hugo

  • Music

Rush, Def Leppard, Queensryche, Tom Petty, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Poison, well let's just say 95% of the 80 hair bands, Goo Goo Dolls, Collective Soul, Pearl Jam, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Rik Emmett, Tears for Fears, Duran Duran, Carrie Underwood, LeAnn Rimes, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Just to name a few. Actually I'm a very eclectic music lover.
I enjoy playing (Keyboard/Piano/Organ) when I'm not gaming or writing, ghost-hunting, or wastin' time on the T.V.
"Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without." ~Confucius

Serenity was in my opinion an excellent Sci-Fi Flick, of course I thought the TV Series was great also. However, this movie to me was classic Sci-Fi at it's best.

This movie still reigns no. 1 in my book. It was an emotional roller coaster of a ride. It had all the elements that an epic should. Defined and drive characters, intense drama, suspense, action, comedy, and incredible effects. What more can one ask for...The entire series is in my top ten, however, this one took what the other two built and set a new standard for movies.
  • Television

For the longest time, I cared not for the big black box, for there was nothing worth watching but dumb 1/2 hour comedies that make the man of the house look like an idiot or Rich Lawyers defending Rich Bad Guys and Rich Doctors saving humanity to save their own tattered souls.
But as of late, thanks to Sci-Fi Channel's recent success with shows like my favorites: Stargate SG-1 (with Richard Dean Anderson), Stargate Atlantis, and Ghost Hunters, it paved the way for shows like Lost, Medium, Ghost Whisper, Jericho, & Heroes. All of which are classics in my book.
Bones is another clever show spun from the web of the CSI phenom. Bones is by far my all time favorite show, it is one of the three (Heroes & Ghost Whisper) that I can't wait for each week.

    Here's the List:
    1: Bones

3: Ghost hunters (SCI-FI Channel): Check out T.A.P.S.
    4: Heroes
    5:House
    6: Stargate: Atlantis
7: FireFly (Cut short, but not forgotten)
8: Threshold (Cut short, but not forgotten)
    9: MASH
10: Any Star Trek Original/Next Generation/Enterprise (Not a fan of DS9 or Voyager)

Anyone who reminds us by deeds of the good that is still in world, despite the darkness around us. IE: Those that volunteer their precious time to those around the world that need what ever aide we can get them. Those who hold out a hand to those that have had a run in with tragedy, despite the hardships within their own life.
Those that stand on our borders and protect our freedom, so a website like this can exist.
    These are heroes.

"I believe in a world of angels and demons, ghosts and ghouls, zombies and vampires. I love a world of elfs and dragons, heroes and villians. Evil and not so evil. I enjoy walking that line of shadow between evil and good, light and darkness."

I grew up in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains of Northwestern Pennsylvania. Fresh out of high school, I had a desire to experience the world so I enlisted in the U.S.A.F. Ten years later, after seeing nearly all of Europe, I left the military and returned home to my family. Settling in New Kensington, which sits along the Allegheny River roughly 15 miles north of Pittsburgh, I returned to college.

Graduating from Penn State in 1992, I began a career in Electrical Engineering. However, my true passion is writing. I began writing “Realm of Shadow" in 1988.

My work is not limited to fantasy; I love horror, supernatural thrillers, and sci-fi. My true love is within the realms of horror and the supernatural. At times, my mind is a scary place to traverse, even for me. However, I allow my dark visions free reign when it comes to storytelling and of course Halloween decorating.

I have the tale “Spooky Hollow” published in “Tabloid Purpose IV”, and I am currently working on expanding my macabre short story collection and continuing on with my novels.

I currently live in Robinson PA with my wife Tammy and my boy Sebastian, along with Luna our Huskey. Upon occassion, the elder teens Elora and Shay do drop by for a visit.

.. You scored as Rodney McKay. Your conterpart is the brilliant but caustic Canadian astrophysicist, Rodney McKay. You may be egotistical or as Samantha Carter puts it: "arrogant, petty and bad with people" but deep down you really do care about others a great deal. You're a little bit solitary, but only because certain people just annoy you and you can't stand being around them (and I mean, who can blame you). In the end, even though you can be a pain in the ass you're a good friend.

Whimsy Rag
http://www.writerscafe.org/groups/1632/

www.whimsyrag.com Whimsy Rag is a new e-zine devoted to fantasy. We are looking for original fantasy fiction (short stories, limericks, poems, etc) that is available for possible publication in the near future. Stories of adventure, magic, and suspense are welcome. Light, whimsical pieces are also welcome. We are NOT looking for horror. Sorry. Since we are a very small and very new website, there is no cash payment involved. Instead, you retain all of your copyrights and gain free exposure. It's a win/win. Feel free to invite fellow fantasy writers (and readers!) to the group. If you have a piece that you would like us to read, but which can not, for some reason, be submitted, please send us a personal email with the link to your piece. You can submit your stories and poems here, or at www.whimsyrag.com. If we like your submission, we will contact you directly, via email, in order to get your permission to publish. Please Note: All selected stories will be checked against a plagiarism website to ensure originality.
