Look up the meaning of the word "tireless" in the dictionary and you'll probably see Robin Fairbanks name.
Known in the industry for her energy, ethics, and outright fearlessness, Robin was once fondly labeled by a Sales Manager from a well known radio station as... The Velvet Hammer, a moniker Robin considers the ultimate compliment.
"This is a tough industry. I'm a stickler on accountability, but I don't expect anything that I don't give in return. If I give you 100%, I expect 100% back. It's that easy." says Robin.
Known for having a good eye and ear for talent, Robin began her career in the 70's, booking and later managing her first artists in Warren, Ohio while still in high school. At age 18, she was a licensed A. F. of M. Booking Agent with a hefty roster of bands twice her age, and she, not old enough to legally get into the establishments she worked for.
Later years would find Robin teaming with several Audio Production Studios in Ohio and Dallas, creating and selling Original Music, Jingles, and Radio/TV Commercials. Robin has also worked On-Air and has pounded the pavement selling air time for some of Ohio and Seattle's Top Radio Stations.
Robin believes her broad based experience is valuable to her Artists for she knows the inner workings of many aspects of the Music and Multi Media Industries. Knowing you're only as good as the people you surround yourself with, Robin has gathered an impressive network of Industry Professionals she can call on when need.
When it comes to business, Robin's philosophy is simply, 'Artist First' and based on mutual respect and trust. "An Artist/Manager relationship is quite unique. The Manager is the Artist's Cheerleader, Friend, Adviser, and Confidant. My Artists know there is little I won't do for them."
Robin is predicting an exciting year for Shotty who recorded/mix/mastered their EP, 'Ah Here We Go', with famed Seattle Producer, Martin Feveyear at Jupiter Studios.
Shotty recently returned from their 1st W. Coast tour with engagements at the famed Viper Room and Whisky A Go Go, in W. Hollywood and is currently working on writing their 1st full-length album.
Although focused on her Artist's careers, Robin gives of her time and experience to make the Music Industry a better place. "I want to leave a marker that I made a difference somewhere/somehow."
Last Summer, Robin stepped in to help bring attention to the ailing Seattle Peace Concert Series, by Co-Producing HENDRIX FEST at Magnuson Park.
Armed with an impressive artist lineup including, Randy Hansen, Leon Hendrix Mysterience, Shotty, and Original HEART members, Steve Fossen and Roger Fisher, the FREE concert attracted over 1000+.
Specializing in young bands, Robin says, "I've always had an affinity for young, up-and-coming Artists and derive great satisfaction in educating them about the Music Business and how to work professionally within it."
Remember Artists... Dare to Dream!
