    QUOTES:

"Either we have hope within us or we don't, it is a dimension of the soul, and it's not essentially dependent on some particular observation of the world or estimate of the situation...Hope in this deep and powerful sense, is not the same as joy that things are going well or willingness to invest in enterprises that are obviously headed for early success, but rather, an ability to work for something because it is good, not just because it stands a chance to succeed...Hope is definitely not the same thing as optimism. It is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense no matter how it turns out." - Vaclav Havel

"The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances; if there is any reaction, both are transformed." - Carl Jung

"What knocks you down only makes you stronger. There were points in my life when I didn't think anything else bad could possibly happen or go wrong. But in the end, it was those same experiences that made me stronger and the person I am today." - John D'Esposito, Founder of Bamboozle, Interview in AMP Magazine

"I have said many times, in private conversations, that if you pursue excellence, as we are in this band, it spills over to the rest of your character. That is, you can’t just play your instrument well, you must learn to communicate with others well, manage your resources well, give to those around you and so on..." - Josh Ingber, The Upwelling, Excerpt from Blog

"Your work is to discover your world, then with all your heart give yourself to it, and lastly to be humble about how lucky it is to live that way." - Part Buddha, Part Me

"The victory of culture is a victory for peace. A true victory for peace can never be obtained by guns. Culture and music are our "weapons." The victory of culture is the only means by which we can achieve an indestructible victory for peace. It is the only real way. Government is concerned with power; economics is concerned with profit and loss. But culture profoundly touches people in the depths of their lives. Music speaks to people's hearts and brings them closer together." - Daisaku Ikeda

"Every man is more than just himself; he also represents the unique, the very special and always significant and remarkable point at which the world's phenomena intersect, only once in this way, and never again.” - Herman Hesse, Siddhartha

"To have a firm persuasion in our work - to feel that what we do is right for ourselves and good for the world at exactly the same time - is one of the great triumphs of human existence." - David Whyte

"Music is my mother...and my father...it is my work and my rest...my blood...my compass...my love." - Jeff Buckley

"The business of life is to go forward." - Samuel Johnson

"There is only one way to learn," the alchemist answered. "It's through action. Everything you need to know you have learned through your journey." - Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

"We're all lonely for something we don't know we're lonely for. How else to explain the curious feeling that goes around feeling like missing somebody we've never even met." - David Foster Wallace, Lonliness

"Search your profile for a translation, I study the conversation like a map cause I know there is strength in the differences between us, and there is comfort where we overlap. - Ani Difranco, Overlap

"...echoes of glam-rock, Brit-pop and ’70s punk with Wall Of Sound production (score one for the U.S.!), infectious pop hooks and an unmistakable enthusiasm. 4 stars." - Alternative Press

"Manic and emphatic".... - New York Daily Post

"Unabashed and unbridled pure pop. The Takeover UK deliver the goods." - Atlanta Music Guide

There are not very many young bands that can tactfully borrow from the past and melt themselves across genres. But The Takeover UK successfully take the pop sensibility of the '60s and marry it with Class of '77 punk rock. Unabashedly pop, with a punk attitude shining through thick power chords and vocals that teeter between sugar and snarl...this IS exciting pop music.

Huge hooks and smashing choruses flirt with one another in songs such as "Ah La La," while the band's inherent charm shines through in tracks, "Evelyn" and "The Lonely Ones." The Takeover UK are as charismatic on record as they are live, with an astonishing ability to craft scores of classic songs that make people move. Having two prolific singer/songwriters, a band like this doesn't come around that often.

Their debut full-length just released on 3/24/09, Running With The Wasters, is the follow up to their EP, It's All Happening - both out on Rykodisc.

"Refreshingly lacking even a shred of hipster-chic irony, Syd delivers that most delicious of rock confections, a capital “P” Pop song...I defy you not to sing along." - Seven Days, VT

Syd is a singer/songwriter from Vermont whose love of "indie rock", driving rhythms and 50's pop has separated him from the growing legions of boys wielding guitars.

Starting at the age of 18 and after playing hundreds of shows a year since 2002 in both the club and college market, selling a combined 3000 physical copies of his first two records and an astonishing 23,000 digital downloads, Syd brought his band (drummer Sam Smith, now Ben Folds' throne man and guitarist Dylan Allen, now also living in New York) into the deep woods of Chelsea, VT to record in a gutted barn what would become 2007's "The Way We Found It" a record that re-defines the sound Syd has been honing all these years. Produced by They Might Be Giants' Danny Weinkauf, "The Way We Found It" is a new sound, and altogether familiar.

Along the way, he's earned a spot in Music Connection magazine's "Top 25 Demos of the Year", a nomination for Coffeehouse Performer of the Year, showcases at NXNE and Nemo Music Festival, festival appearances like Washington DC's Virgin Music Fest, one of the 2008 PASTEmagazine Recommended Artists, plus opening slots in front of Ari Hest, Stephen Kellogg and The Sixers, John Vanderslice, The Zombies and Hanson, as well as many others.

- HARRIET STREET -
(Management/Booking)
www.myspace.com/harrietstreet

Label: Self-Released
Status/Availability: The founding members of Harriet Street are currently involved as backing band and music direction for Mieka Pauley (Cosmo Star Launch Winner) as well as in pre-production for the next Harriet Street record. Currently, select northeast shows; touring and availability for supporting and packaged tours expected to resume fall/winter 2009.

"Songs like 'The Sequel' and 'Playing With Fire In August' are moody indie rock pieces that build into strong full out rock in the vein of "Bends"-era Radiohead." - Nick Stefanovich, WERS

"The lyrics of this album are on a level of their own...set apart with bold, sometimes bitter, intricacy aligned just so to bring every word alive. And yet, these lyrics live in the shadows of fantastic music that is so well-coordinated that you can't escape from listening to it. It won't be uncommon to find yourself humming along, maybe even singing along to these impeccably designed alt-pop tunes...You will be hearing more of them." - Independent Clauses

Harriet Street is the collaborative effort of classically trained musicians with a passion for alternative rock. Using this unique musical perspective and combining it with extraordinary performance ability, Harriet Street has managed to create a stunning body of original music.

Fronted by singer/songwriter, Brian Cassagnol, the quartet's lush musical textures expertly blend crashing guitars, soaring strings, and desperate, resonate vocals on dense rhythmic backdrops. Within months of forming, Harriet Street drew immediate acclaim and found themselves at the center of attention: a showcasing artist at the NEMO Boston Music Festival and chosen by the Boston Herald as one of the "conference highlights", a management offer with a highly regarded firm, a licensing deal through leading agency EMOTO Music, and sold out shows at even larger venues.

The band's debut album, Cold and Comfortable, was released with high praise in July 2005 and was a collaborative effort between Brian Cassagnol, bassist Andrew Morgan, and drummer Ed Toth (Vertical Horizen, Doobie Brothers).

The launch of HBO's highly received John From Cincinnati found Harriet Street's song "The Perfect Ending" featured in the show's trailer and ad campaign. Harriet Street are currently in pre-production for their next release and doing select shows in support of their latest record, Several Lies and the Love That Inspired Them, produced by David Rolfe (Ben Kweller, Rob Dickinson). Even the harshest critics agree that when Harriet Street take the stage there is a chemistry, a charisma, and an edge which demand the complete and undivided attention of every person in the room.

- RETRO IGNITE -
(Booking)
www.myspace.com/retroignite

Label: Self-released
Status/Availability: East coast touring in June/July with cross-country touring planned thereafter. Band is seeking touring opportunities for supporting packaged tours. For more info, please email.

Retro Ignite: the new, energetic, electro-powerpop, indie-style'd driven rock band hailing from Queens/Long Island, NY.

Unafraid to touch upon a diversity of influences, this exciting new project fuses together original electronic sequencing and vintage synthesizers with dynamic guitars, emotionally charged choruses and a twist of techno to create a unique wave of modern indie dance pop.

Starting as a collaboration in January 2008 between Chris Castellino (ex Meridian Drive, electronics/guitar/piano) and Phil Masi (ex The All-Starz. vocals/guitar), Retro Ignite officially became complete and set to play live shows in April of that year after joining with members drummer Carlo David (ex Meridian Drive) and bassist Miles White (ex Between You & Me).

Armed with a Macbook full of beats and an arsenal of smooth hooks, they sooned combined forces with Long Island engineer Mike Watts of Vudu Studios (As Tall Ast Lions, The Almost, Self Against City, The Scenic, The Junior Varsity, 1997) as well as producer Mike Del Rio and drummer Greg Wirbikis (The Crash Moderns) to bring you their debut, self-titled cd, featuring 5 exciting tracks currently available on iTunes, CDBaby, and from the band's online store.

Quickly building a strong online fanbase, Retro Ignite hit the road this past summer, visiting every state on the East Coast and New England. In addition, they've also shared the stage with such artists as The Medic Droid, Hypercrush, Envy On The Coast, The Scenic, Mercy Mercedes, Thieves And Villains, Red Car Wire, Go Radio, Chronic Future, The Crash Moderns, Breathe Electric, Kelsey And The Chaos, and Kids Of Survival.

Earlier this year, they entered the studio with multi-platinum producer and recording engineer Kenny Gioia (Cute Is What We Aim For, Head Automatica, Bayside, Four Year Strong), finishing up their newest single "Nightlife Royalty" and two additional new songs. All are getting great response.

The momentum continues to build with a recent feature in Alternative Press (June 2009).

Retro Ignite's style is derived from many influences of current bands on the scene: Panic At The Disco, Danger Radio, Hellogoodbye and indie pop artists MGMT, Eye Alaska, and The Cab.

RIYL: Metro Station, The Secret Handshake, All Time Low, Mercy Mercedes, Forever The Sickest Kids, Motion City Soundtrack, Panic At The Disco, Danger Radio, Cobra Starship, The Higher, Settings, Innerpartysystem, Head Automatica, Eye Alaska, The Cab.

- 3RD CULTURE -
(Booking, Promotion, Licensing)
www.3rdculturenation.com | www.myspace.com/3rdcultureband

Label: Self-Released
Status/Availability: Currently on hiatus. For licensing, please email.

"3RD CULTURE may span the globe but at heart they are a true American rock band with Top 40 sensibility and a non-pretentious demeanor. The EP highlights their 80's vibe with a modern edge. Standout tracks include 'Radio' and a cover of The Psychedelic Furs' 'Heaven'. An energizing set likely to please the college crowd and young-at-heart alike. Perfect soundtrack material." - Dom Leconte, Sony Networks

"3RD CULTURE successfully follows the formula institutionalized by U2. The music is raw, the energy is high, and the choruses are anthemic. This is what radio should play - rock with a hook AND a melody. 'Heartbreak City' screams Gossip Girl and that's a good thing." - Michael Slezak, Entertainment Weekly

"It's the 'Empire Records' soundtrack for today. - James Masterson, Dotmusic

"Multi-format hits waiting to happen in Heartbreak City, Radio and Heaven. Great vocals, great production, great sound - what else do you need?" - Ryan T. Frederick, VH-1 International

"I love the vibe. Lasting rock sound with a timely pull. Tracks that sound as good on record as they do live." - Michelle Boston, NBC Universal TV

"...very atmospheric music and singer Dan Lichty has a warm and emotional voice ...they write music that breathes longevity..." - Kaj Roth, Melodic.net

3RD CULTURE blends the melodic ambitions and lush textures of Britpop with the soul of American Rock n' roll. It is a global collision of 3 musicians with cultural and musical influences spanning 3 continents and coming together in NYC. The result is a dynamic, youthful, and refreshing pop/rock sound. Past projects of the members have seen impressive milestones performing and recording tracks featured internationally on radio and television.

Having spent time in 2007 sequestered for writing and recording, 3rd Culture has emerged from the studio with their debut EP, "Sunrise for the Dislocated" which brings to mind the classics of The Cars and the emotionally poignant sounds of contemporaries like Keane and Remy Zero. Recorded with Dustin Burnett (Augustana, The October, One Less Reason), the record has been an international endeavor, from inspired beginnings under the Brooklyn Bridge to recording in Nashville, mixing in Kentucky, mastering in New Zealand, and photo sessions through the lens of a Turkish photographer.

Socially, the term 3rd Culture is used to describe people who spend a significant portion of their lives in a country other than their home country. Eventually the elements from each culture are assimilated into a 3rd Culture. You see it everyday in NYC, the most diverse and dynamic human experiment of all.

The NYC inspired and based musical experiment that is 3RD CULTURE radiates the signals of a bright future, in the legacy of U2 and Tom Petty.

"3RD CULTURE is America's version of Brit-pop/new wave/alternative rock. Strong songwriting skills, polished execution, emotional poignancy and dramatic vocals. Very impressive." - Kings of A&R

"3RD CULTURE have some terrific sounding songs, including "Bird of Prey"... Lead guitarist Dmitry is the key to this band - his angular, precise leads and crunchy rhythms propel the band forward in most of their songs." - Waved Rumor
