Well...what to say? I like to tell people that I grew up in bars, singing on stage and playing Pac-Man and Pinball with quarters begged from my dad's pockets whenever the band was on break. Every Friday and Saturday afternoon my mom and I would fight over whether or not I'd take a nap (I usually won), and then, after supper, I'd watch ..Star Search.. and ..Solid Gold.. while Mom put on her makeup and my Dad loaded the equipment into the big blue bus (which, by the way, did double duty as my favorite place to play whenever it was parked in our driveway...it had a couch and some chairs...and a giant bed). I made my solo stage debut at age six, when I graduated from singing along on my mom's mic (standing on a chair during "My Boyfriend's Back" and "Da Doo Ron Ron") to holding my very own mic to sing lead. I sang Chubby Checker, Hank Williams, and Elvis in that sort of wobbly, little kid voice that turns most adults into mush. I also wore cutesy outfits that my mom had made for me. I was taking tap lessons. People used to croon about how I was shaping up to be the next Shirley Temple. *shudders* I even let my mom put my hair up in ringlets. .... Anyway, about 3 years after the band broke up, I turned 13 and started playing guitar. I became a songwriter initially because I didn't have enough songs to practice and no one had time to teach me anything new. So, I wrote something. It was hideous, but it was a song (yes, I still remember the melody and I have the words...but no, I will never, ever, EVER play it for anyone again...hahah). .... I've gotten LOTS better since then. :-P .... So yeah, that's my bio for now. It's probably all wrong and a lot longer than it needs to be, but YOU read it, didn't you? Ha. If you have any questions or suggestions, send 'em my way. .... Peace.

Oh jeepers...if you listened to me you might think I was obsessed with Lilith Fair or something, but actually, most of the artists I listen to are male. When I started to write songs (ages and ages ago...) I used hair band ballads as a template!!! At that time I was obsessed with Slaughter, Cinderella, and Mötley Crüe. RAWK!!! .... Haha. After that I hit my classic rock stage and spent most of my time listening to the Beatles and Elton John. I pretty much missed the whole grunge/alternative movement 'cause I was too busy living in 1970 (not that I didn't get into all that stuff later on...and yet SOMEHOW I still managed to listen the hell out of ..BloodSugarSexMagik.. and Pearl Jam's ..Ten..) .... Now I'm really into the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hanson, Kings of Leon, 30 Seconds to Mars, My Chemical Romance, Panic! at the Disco, Ingram Hill, John Frusciante, Bright Eyes, Death Cab for Cutie, Coldplay, the All-American Rejects, Fiona Apple, and the Used...and tons of others. It changes almost daily. .... *muah*
  • Sounds Like

Usually people say I sound like Jewel or Sarah McLachlan...and recently a guy I almost dated said I reminded him more of Norah Jones, which was puzzling, but flattering nontheless. Hehe. I don't know...I'm a girl with an acoustic guitar and I'm not screaming all the time...and sometimes I sing really pretty. What is that? *LOL* I just write about whatever's bothering me, like anyone else...usually my supernatural lack of a satisfying love life. Hahah.
