A native of New York, Robin Lerner graduated from NYU film school and began her songwriting and screenwriting careers creating animated musical features for Disney, Steven Spielberg at Amblin, and Warner Brothers. Eventually turning her focus entirely to music, Lerner found her first success in the pop world with Sheena Easton, Chaka Khan, Carly Simon, Patti LaBelle, Jermaine Jackson, Take 6, and Luther Vandross.
In the past 10 years, Robin Lerner’s songs have been recorded by great country artists such as Randy Travis (“Out Of My Bones”, 1), Tim McGraw (“She’s My Kind Of Rain”, 1) and Faith Hill (“This Kiss”, 1) . In 1999, “This Kiss” was awarded single of the year at the 1999 Academy of Country Music Awards, and was named ASCAP Song Of The Year. “This Kiss” was also nominated for a Grammy and went on to win Song of the Year at the 2000 CMA’s.
In 2002 Robin returned to her film roots penning the screenplay “Princess of Thieves”, which aired on ABC’s “Wonderful World of Disney” and starred Keira Knightly.
Since then she has collaborated with Nick Lachey, Universal South recording artist Jennifer Hanson, Jennifer Paige, and UK artist Ben Montague, just to name a few.
Her song “Safest Place To Hide” appears on the current Backstreet Boys album, and Bette Midler performs her song “September” (a ballad which reflects on the actions of 9/11) every night in her ongoing “Kiss My Brass” tour.
Robin's new musical for the stage, "Officer and a Gentleman" based on the film of the same name, just had it's first staged reading at Amas in New York, and she is eagerly awaiting the first workshop and production of it in 2008. She is also currently at work on a new screenplay.
Robin has her own publishing company, Massabielle Music, and is represented by Whitney Daane at Mighty Isis Music in Nashville and Los Angeles.

Hi Robin, It's been awhile. I do come here as much as possible to listen to you incredible songs. You are truly blessed with a rare gift of song writing and with some of the greatest singers in the world.
Hi Robin, My essay was choosen for David and Charlie's "Morning Song" contest. Thank you for writing "Morning Song." I haven't stopped listening to the song since I heard my friend had died. I has really gotten me through my tough times. Although you say it is about a parent's loss of a child, I feel it is about the loss of anyone who has gone before their time. I really hope David releases "Morning Song" on an album or radio. It's truly touching.
Hi Robin, It's been awhile. Hope all is going well for you. I'm so glad that spring is finally in the air. I always enjoy coming on your page to listen to your beautiful songs. Such a wonderful gift that has been bestowed to you.
