After my father taught me some basic chords on the guitar (he was a guitarist in the popular 60s/70s band "The Street") I started to self teach *myself* a little more. Finally to end up with the very basic knowledge that i have of the guitar at the Mo!!
Eventually i started to put lyrics to the chord shapes that i had been experimenting with and - bang - my first offerings of songwriting. I really started to get the creative juices flowing during the last years at Art School in the late nineties and began piecing songs and ideas together, although still playing in the bedroom arena for many years to come...
Skip forward many years-and through my (now) wife- i start to meet likeminded people with likeminded interests, and began writing again, with the aim to record.
I approached a friend of mine JAMIE HOWELL
and we jossled, juggled and re-jigged ideas and finally began recording in Early 2008. Three of those recordings are now on this site. Unfortunatly after mixing and mastering those three, most of my material was lost - due to technical problems with equipment, in what i like to call *KORG-GATE* know one is to blame except Jamie, but hey!
Now that time has healed, and friendships mended, new recordings are on the cards. With a fresh objective, newly found vigour and bugger-all else to do, more material is written and ready to go. So please keep listening - as the Rob Lester Machine is rolling your way!!!.......
