So this isn’t going to be your standard bio. I honestly felt that I needed to make a change and step out of the box of normalcy. And what’s that you ask? Well, the old standard of the informal bio and now one from the heart.
So here it is. My name is Rob. I am a musician. At 10 years old, I used to sit in my family’s garage and would lock myself away with an old beat up Spanish style guitar, teaching myself how to "play", even though I had NO idea how to tune the damn thing. My fascination with music started to take me in a whole bunch of different directions. My mother dragged me to "audition" for the LA YOUTH CHOIR. I guess out of the 1000 kids that sang in front of the chamber, I was chosen to fill one of 30 spots. So at 11, I started to teach myself how to play piano, and "acquired" (stole really) a book that gave me the basic structure on chords and placement on a keyboard. I didn’t realize until a few years later that that was probably the reason why I was kicked out………
At 12. I met one of my mentors when I moved away from my mother's house and into my dad’s: Marino de Silva. He gave me my first shot by accident when he was given a movie script, and asked to write the title track. Being curious, I started to thumb through it obviously annoying him. I took the script home and wrote a song called ‘Angel’s Freeway’ (the movie’s title). After only 6 months of "guitar lessons" (I’d sit and he’d tell me to listen to this cd and that cd, and I taught myself how to play) I was signed to Rainflower Music. I played EVERY major venue in Los Angeles by the time I was 13, and from the ages of 13 to 23, I was jamming with legends like Toto, John Waite, Steve Lukather, and Carlos Santana, just to name a few. I traveled the world, got into a whole lot of trouble, and had a whole lot of fun doing it.
I became a session musician, signed to a few labels, recorded at every studio from here to London, and realized that as a child sitting in his parent’s dusty garage, that rock and roll was going to be my life. I jammed and sat in with The Goo Goo Dolls and Chris Daughtry, got hired to play guitar for a group of famous sisters, wrote for a bunch of artists and made and lost LOTS AND LOTS OF MONEY. The one thing I never realized at that point in my life was that the music business is and was just that, A BUSINESS.
So here we are. I’m 26. I still tour. I’ve got an amazing band behind me. I’ve been doing it on my own for a few years now. My team and I released the first EP on iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, and CD Baby 2 years ago and it was well received. I’m currently working in studio with Billie Stevens (from the band Handsome Devils and DINKY music) and also Jeff Abercrombie (the bassist from the world renown band Fuel). One press clip states ‘Rob’s music is a unique style of rock and roll that is beyond compare. The passion in his lyrics, singing and amazing guitar rifts draws the listener in, having them beg for more.’
So now that you have read these 5 paragraphs, this is a small portion of me on paper. I hope you enjoy the music as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it, and these words you are reading are from me directly to you. Thank you for your time…….

the Panthers, the successor to the Black Panthers, in which race
doesn't matter -- and as a band, you can spread the word. My blog,
though much of it is about my personal life, when it's about politics,
should be a good source of ideas. So check it out and if you like what
you see, subscribe. Any questions? Leave a comment or message me and
I'll get right back to you.
