My influences span many genres, including Trance, Techno, Electro, Ambient, Industrial and Psy. I am drawn to freaky sounds, heavier beats and driving basslines...ones that you can feel deep in your gut.
Influencial artists include: Crystal Castles, Boys Noize, Modeselektor, Depeche Mode, Paul Van Dyk, DJ Kaenow, MSTRKRFT, Starkillers, ATB, Meat Beat Manifesto and Front 242...just to name a few.

I am a fusion of many different sounds, but if I had to equate them into bands/music, I would include: Boys Noize, MSTRKRFT, Simian Mobile Disco, Deadmau5, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Crystal Castles, Kraftwerk, Benny Benassi...the list goes on.
San Francisco Electro/Techno artist Robot Bomb Shelter (aka Jake B.) has been producing his brand of electronic dance music for 2 decades. RBS creates heavy, complex beats and basslines that evoke an innate need to move your body. Jake writes, programs, edits, automates and performs studio mastering by himself.
It's fun, new, full of life and is now getting noticed by local and non-local DJs/musicians.

First off...I am not a DJ. I create my own music from scratch using a ton of tools. While I may explore remixing in the future, for now, I hope you enjoy my music.
Now, about my work:
Robot Bomb Shelter was conceived in late 2007 after roughly 20 years in the making. After cycling through various names over the years (digiBox, Fraktal), Robot Bomb Shelter was born.
The music of Robot Bomb Shelter is described by powerful, systematic patterns of complex beats and sounds with influences from several genres of music including Industrial, Techno, Bassline (aka UK Garage) and Electro.
Jake Brower - the man behind RBS - was born in San Diego, California in 1970. Jake began studying music at a very early age, having been trained on the clarinet (as well as oboe, bassoon, bass clarinet) starting in the 4th grade. Jake has also studied piano, musical composition and theory as well as audio mastering techniques.
Over the last 20 or so years, Jake has amassed an array of new technologies and now produces his music solely by computer and peripherals. RBS uses state-of-the-art software and hardware to create the rich and powerful sounds of tomorrow.
Jake lives in San Francisco, CA, with his loving partner, Joe.
The 1st release by Robot Bomb Shelter, entitled "Robot Picnic" is now out on iTunes, Amazon, Napster, SoundCloud and SNOCAP.
