The story of the band members starts like this and ends sort of similar. Bass player Sketty Dave and Cameron von Cameron, two long-time friends came together in late 1994 as high school drop outs with another close friend, they all received there selected position instruments as christmas gifts and began practicing not really knowing what the heck to do, but man it sounded great! The band then got breaking news one of the members would be moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba home of the Jets. The news was devistating to the group Cameron began drinking heavily and becoming more violent. Dave was sent to jail on a charge of public nudity, though he claims he was sleep walking. Years later they got back on track and met Vatcher. Although they had known him for many years, they never knew about his guitar skills. They formed Pinkbelly, a name off the popular show the Simpson's. starting as a 3 piece they became a 4 piece and back to a 3 piece. They did this about 3 times over. Pinkbelly was then disbanded, as Vatcher went his seperate way. At this point Cameron Von Cameron moved from drums to guitar and picked up a good looking drummer named Darcy and called themselves Rogue Nine. after a year or so Sketty Dave got sick of Cameron's controling ways and left the band. Rogue Nine slowly drifted away. Cameron started a whole new band in London then in Windsor, before moving away to the UK. Sketty Dave began playing guitar and did a solo project called As Good As Dead, but never got it off the ground. 5 years after the split up Cameron Von Cameron and Sketty Dave got back in contact and quickly started writing songs and learning some old ones. The search from a drummer lasted 2 weeks and they became a band with no name. A month of jaming they stubbled across a name and robot radio station was born. A minor set back, when the drummer left the band. Ready to give up Cameron came across an ad. A drummer with huge potential. (if you rememeber the begining The first band member moved to Winnipeg). coming all the way from Winnipeg the naked, waffle making, Manitoban, drummer Derek joined the band. This Winnipeg native quickly learned the set and even made it better with his super fantastic drumming skills.
Robot Radio Station is a power trio hailing from London, Ontario. Formed in the summer of 2005, and then reformed with new drummer in December from Manitoba. The diverse interests, powerful guitars and insane harmonies make Robot Radio Station a powerful force to be reckoned with. RRS has a unique sound, which combines west coast punk, 50s rock and 80s pop with sharp lyrical wit.
