Blackest Rainbow and MG present, a Load Records (Lightning Bolt, Noxagt, Yellow Swans etc) extravaganza!!!
WHITEMICE Providence, Rhode Island's / Load Record's WhiteMice are a three piece - bass, drums and oscillator - that generate enough round and square wave tones to bring a bonanza bus of nuns three feet off the ground. Combining the menacing posture of black metal with blistering oscillator attack is nothing new, but the band does dress like lab butchered whitemice when playing live. Past shows and tours have seen the band play with entertainers such as Dropdead, Coughs and Lightning Bolt - this should give you an idea these furry weirdos nibble from heavy blocks. Yeah, Bath is really awesome. You should stop in Bath sometime instead of going all the way to Bristol - it's way more beautiful, and yes, the lunch spots are far more inviting.
I'm trying to get a job in a cafe or a bakery - am hoping to work in the place down the road which is a cafe AND bakery, but I'm not sure how much luck I'll get with that... it's all with the intention of working in one of the afforementioned bath lunch spots...
But yeah, that really sucks about your holidays - does this mean that you may never get a good summer holiday again? I hope not... But it's quite cool that medicine has this whole system outside of EVERY other way of teaching - you are so special.
Hope you are well, let me know if you're ever around the Portsmouth locale or if you're around the Bath or Bristol area - the chances are that I may be also! Have fun with the medicine and other things,
Opus vs. Word Life Present a night a mixed, varied and genuine entertainment for just £4.
Kicking off the night In true Opus style we have hooked up with Word Life, Sutco and Shrimps who will showcase some of the most interesting up and coming talent on the Sheffield live literature and comedy scene. Proceeds are going towards taking original SutCo play 'Dissexions' to The Edinburgh Festival this summer.
To Headline we have the honor of welcoming The PeteBox for the first time in Sheffield. Voted Radio 1's Champion Beatboxer. This man uses a loop peddle and his voice to create a Beatbox show like no other taking you through the genres of Jazz, Hip Hop and Drum & Bass. To be fully convinced type 'Petebox' into YouTube, sit back and be amazed.
(myspace.com/thepetebox)
2nd on the bill we have a band called Worriedaboutsatan. Think Explosions in the Sky, The Cocteau Twins and an ambient 65Days. Bring your dancing shoes!
(myspace.com/worriedaboutsatan)
To end the night Opus DJ's such as DJ4D and Mr Mercer will bring you a blend of many artists featured on the impressive Warp and Planet Mu roster, ending with and eclectic mix of New Jungle and liquid D&B to dance away the wee hours.
This is night is like no other in Sheffield so come down and support these artists that would not normally be found on the same bill. We hope nights like this will expose people to art forms and music that they may not normally come into contact with in an attempt to show the similarities in different genres and styles.
Woah! Shouldn't you be finishing things off for the summer in the next few weeks - not starting them! That is crazy. I hope you are enjoying the learning though.
Yeah I'm good thanks, I did art foundation and just finished so now i finally get to move away from portsmouth. I'm moving up to Bath which I am finding very exciting. But it's quite boring being on holiday this early when everyone else is still working and learning and such! En ce moment I am having to read some booklet about food hygiene as I am takig a course this afternoon with the vague hope of getting a job. It is even less thrilling than that sounds as the booklet has pretty much nothing to do with the course, it is food regulations for businesses! I think they gave me it as some kind of ambiguous joke..
I have never been to sheffield, I am glad that you are enjoying it there - how much longer are you there for? I look forward to hearing your songs very much, I will be on the lookout now.
Take care and have fun, I am glad to hear that you are well! Esther xx
Hey man, I thought I would see how you were and what you have been up to - I love your songs, they are really beautiful :-)
I hope that you're well and having fun, it sounds like you are-on both counts. Long time no see, maybe see you around sometime?
Take care xx Esther
