Interests

  • General

My interests are writing, classical music, theatre, working with young people, volunteering with local schools, and encouraging other writers to pursue their dreams. I was recently elected to the Board of Directors of Christian Youth Theatre in San Diego. I also support my wife's efforts in training our Standard Poodle, Nick, who is a therapy dog and canine athlete. I am also certified with the Delta Society for therapy dog work at local hospitals. I love classical music, progressive jazz, concert pianists, good writing, really good actors, great restaurants, and a good challenge once in awhile.
  • Music

I love classical music in most any form, especially solo piano. My favorite concert pianists are Arcadi Volodos and Howard Shelley. Favorite composers include Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Holst, Wagner, Puccini....and many others. I also like jazz and progressive jazz pioneers such as Dave Brubeck.

About me:

I have been married to Jo for almost 40 years and we currently reside in Valencia, California, with our Standard Poodle, Nick, and our Greyhound, Raphael. Jo has spent many years as a professional dog trainer having trained numerous breeds of dogs and two wolves. She is also Coordinator of Pet Therapy for a large hospital and oversees the use of Therapy Dogs in the hospital's Rehabilitation Unit. We love to travel and spend a great deal of time working with our canine family members. My background is from rural Texas where I learned the work ethic in the wheat fields and prairies of the panhandle. I pursued a degree in Music Education and taught in public schools prior to entering the business world. I am a design/sales engineer and a published author of five books. I spent over 25 years with the Big Brothers/Sisters program and remain an avid supporter. With Nick, our Standard Poodle, I am certified with the Delta Society to do therapy dog work at the local hospitals and other facilities. Favorite quotes: "Only God can count the apples in a seed." -Robert Schuller

Who I'd like to meet:

....someone who will actually film and produce one of our screen plays.
