Well, here it is..
Im very proud to present to you my very first solo album!
After playing for some years with some of the finest Dutch mainstream jazz and latin-jazz groups and after recording a jazz-album with my B&W-quintet, it was time for something new. Ive always loved multiple styles of music. Besides jazz I listen a lot to HipHop, Soul, R&B and Funk.. The music you hear in the streets, the clubs and on MTV. This influenced me a lot and I wanted to combine these things. Something like Miles davis meets the Neptunes while dAngelo meets Chet Baker.
It all started with a project I did in one of Rotterdams most famous venues called Rotown. For more than 2 years we did monthly shows called Urban Jazz Sessions. I met Branko van Kooten from the new dutch label Embrace Recordings who offered me the chance to record an album with this music. And I am very happy I could record this with some of the most talented and most in demand musicians, guests and singers around. It was a great experience to work with these guys.. and we had a lot of fun! I hope you will have as much fun listening to it!!
