Created in 1988 by Roger Mayfarth, D'Lite was designed for
stage and close-up use by the world renowned magician,
ROCCO. Today, thousands of professional magicians use
D'Lite to entertain audiences throughout the world. With
D'Lite, You can mesmerize people by controlling a bright
red light at your fingertips with your seemingly bare
hands, making it appear and disappear from view as often as
you wish. Here's a small sample of what you can do with one
or two D'Lites;
Show your hands empty, then pluck bright red lights out of the air, pass them from hand to hand, and make them disappear.
Pretend to put one in your mouth, and pull it out of your ear. Put it back in your ear, only to be found back in your mouth ...
Hold an ice cube in your bare hands, and make it glow bright red, at your command.
Play "catch" with a friend (make sure he’s small and durable). Just kidding. "Toss" the D'Lite, not your friend.
Make a plain white napkin develop a bright red glow, and no one but you knows how.
Take a drink, and pull a red light out of your mouth. Was that a light beer?
How about a light snack?
Entertain for hours ...

Slydini
(1901-1991)
Slydini is known to many as the master of misdirection. This close-up master was born Quintini Marucci in Italy. After a move to Argentina, he worked in vaudeville-style theaters until his move to America following 1930. Cool name, great magician. Reportedly, Dick Cavett once asked Dai Vernon who could still fool him. His answer: Nobody but Slydini.

Rocco Silano was born in Paterson, N.J., and is world
renowned for his expertise in sleight of hand, as well as
his originality in conjuring. Rocco studied with the Grand
Master, Slydini, who made him promise to "make the world
remember me and my magic". From this humble beginning, Rocco created and perfected his own style of Magic. Described by
the late Harry Blackstone Jr. as "the epitome of real magic",
Rocco carries with him all of the elements so crucial for
"extraordinary magic". Poise, wit, charisma, a European
style of charm that is totally disarming, along with
impeccable sleight of hand. Sleight of hand that is now
being applied to the grand stage of illusion like no other can.
Rocco is the recipient of the Merlin and
Golden Lion Awards, a two-time winner of the coveted MAC award
(Manhattan Association of Cabarets), and has been nominated nine
times as Magician of the Year by the Academy of Magical Arts in four
different categories.
Rocco won his first FISM award (Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques) in 1994 in Yokohama, Japan. Rocco went to Sweden in 2006 to compete again at FISM, and won a Special Award for being "The World's Most Original Magician FISM 2006". Rocco is the only American ever to win at FISM Twice. Rocco recently starred in the VH1 hit reality series Celebracadabra.
When Rocco read that Elvis died reading the Bible, it intrigued him and motivated him to also study the Bible. Reading about the Miracles performed by Jesus Christ was what initially inspired Rocco to study Magic. He admired Slydini, Dai Vernon and Channing Pollock. Rocco has traveled the world many times over to share his wonderful brand of Magic.
Rocco is most known for his extraordinary sleight of hand. In 1987 he won Sigfried and Roy's "Complete Conjurer" title in Las Vegas, and the "Jimmy Grippo best close-up" award.
Silano is also known for D'Lite, invented by Roger Mayfarth, Rocco's business partner.

I had been secretly at work in Apple's basement application lab. Every
time I came up with a new application they shot it down. I thought that
this would fund my retirement plan, but they kicked me out the door and
told me not to come back. Something about my warped sense of what the
World needs now. What do you think?

Last weekend, my martial arts school had a teaching seminar. My instructor's instructor came and taught a class. I photographed and took part in the event and decided to play with a few of my photos. This is a "dry point" interpretation of my instructor (right center) working with his instructor. This really looks like a painting when seen at full size (8 inches wide), so check it out in your "dedicated" comments section. Stuart
