Rocio Mendoza is a singer, songwriter, dancer and purveyor of the rich cultural experiences of a Latin-American immigrant. Born in Colima, Mexico, Rocio's journey began at the age of 2 when her parents' migrated north in pursuit of work as agricultural migrant workers in the pristine vineyards of Mendocino County. At 8, Rocio joined her parents in the vineyards to help supplement the family income, which is where she was first exposed to Latin American folk melodies and came to discover her own voice. Her traditional voice mixed with modern indie influences give Rocio a unique take on the Latin American folk style. Her voice tells a story of sorrow and strength; loud vocal belts are interrupted only by the occasional tear. Rocio has appeared in numerous music videos as a dancer/performer including Black Eyed Peas, Carlos Santana and N'Sync. She is currently featured on Raphael Saadiq's latest album, "The Way I See It." Rocio performs at private parties and local venues throughout the greater Los Angeles area and is currently working on her first full-length CD.
