I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about what the community needs and I've concluded that Pitman needs another Drug and Alchohol education and prevention program. It's true we have the DARE program, but that's only for a certain age group. I am currently doing research on how to make a program which provides information for people of all ages. The concerts would be used as the vehicle by which to promote the distribution of the information. The Sept. 7th show was the last Rock 4 the Cure I will be doing for awhile. While I enjoy getting bands together and raising money for cancer patients, I have my own medical bills to deal with. The show was great as usual with Racing Through Life, Jacob Graff, The Filthy 42's, and Inner Combustion putting on an incredible rock variety show. The donation this time was $64. Thanks to everyone who came out! You rock!

The April 20th show (as you all know) rocked hardcore! With the insanely awesome duo of Nascence and Racing Through Life, the crowd's eardrums enjoyed the burn. We already knew what to expect when Nascence brought their technical metal riffs mixed with fire and a dash of classic grunge to the table, but for Racing Through Life this was their first official shot at setting the tastebuds of the masses ablaze. Well, to put it simply, they pulled it off flawlessly making a few fans (including me) instantly along the way. Taking us on a roller coaster ride of upbeat pulsating rock, Racing Through Life was a perfect side dish to Nascence. The total donation was $69.55!!! 75% went to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society(just mailed the check today), and 25% went towards extra cords, electric bill, etc. for The Green House venue. Thanks everyone, and keep rocking!

The March 9th show was one of the best shows yet, with only Max the Dork and The Filthy 42's as the final line-up they really went all out! What's more amazing is watching the drummers tear things up while being unconfortably squeezed into the tiny corner of my apartment's main room. These were no doubt some of the most talented bands yet and we definitely hope to have them back in the future, so if you missed this one, don't miss them next time! My landlords even stopped in with some homemade cookies, but we were so entranced by the driving beats and the bassline induced earthquake we totally forgot to eat them.(That's okay, I'm eating them all right now! Ha ha ha!) After the intense show and The Filthy 42's drummer proposing to Max the Dork's bassist, we counted out the donation. $73.95!!! For the small space we had to work with(thanks to Bus Stop Music Cafe cancelling our show) and only two bands, that's a nice chunk of change! Keep the rock alive!

Hey Andrew, forget the Bus Stop, they're stuck up elitest buttheads who don't care about the scene, and they certainly don't care about a cause as good as yours. I for one will be boycotting them and I hope they get what they deserve.
As for a venue, next time you want to put a show together let me know, maybe we can find a place together that will be more accommodating to charity.

Okay.I sent the flyer to almost everyone on my myspace friends list and I have been posting it as a bulletin everyday. Plus I posted it on my livejournal and my xanga. lol. You've got Pitman, Woodbury, and a handful of West Deptford kids knowing about this now. A lot of my woodbury friends want to come. Like 4 or 5 of them said they wanna try to come, plus like 1 west deptford kid. then in Pitman, a lot of people will probably come since they can all just walk.
Have you hung signs uptown and all? that might be a good idea.
I so can not wait for this. I don't think I've ever been so excited about something before!
