Don’t make any assumptions upon passing through the doors of a Rockafella gig. Anything can happen. Rockafella are a far cry from the rock bands circulating the live scene at the present, so you can forget everything you think you know about rock and roll. Forget those same old riffs and lead lines you hear recycled every Saturday night and get prepared for some high voltage, dirty shit-hot rock that surely has Rob Tyner screaming ‘Kick out the jams, motherfuckers!’ from the grave.
Yes, it has arrived, and about time too: a rock band who successfully combine a shout out to the old masters such as the MC5 and the Stooges whilst still maintaining a wholly original sound. Rockafella possess the power to take their audience back to yonder days of sixties rhythm and blues yet their sound is still of today. If rock and roll was a subject one could learn at school, Rockafella would without a doubt be on the curriculum.
And now, armed with a brand spanking new album produced by the great Rob Younger of Radio Birdman, this Sydney/Wollongong based five piece have audiences around Australia clambering for a taste of their high-decibel rock and roll that’ll knock you down before you even know what’s hit you.
Rockafella broke up in 2005, you can find members of rockafella playing in The Wardens, Don Fernando and the Ring Inn's
