About me:

Who we are....
Simply put We are an awareness campaign group, ordinary people, with ordinary lives, who got involved in something that we all believed in completely, because Child pornography and abuse has no borders, no politics, no religion. It does not see colour, gender, race or age. It simply destroys the lives of everyone it touches.
We are the same as every one of you who reads this parents, step parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters, human beings...only we are shouting out to make heard the silenced and silent topic of child pornography. The risk to children both in cyberspace and the real world from the evil of paedophiles and paedophilia in whatever form or context it may arise.
Because in that silence it flourishes...We hear the silence of the children, and cry out on their behalf......

.....and all we ask is that you too HEAR to HELP...

So as well as working here on My Space, Face Book and our web page @www.racpauk.org ....we are organising concerts, primarily within the Rock genre, to combine live performance with the strong message that ANY form of child abuse is not acceptable and that we demand changes that favour the victims of such crimes and more resources to be made available in the field of prevention.
Through the medium of music, we can reach out to the thousands who want to see reform for our children in the modern world. We make a noise, we cry out for those with no voice of their own. Help us make that cry even louder, so that our children cannot be ignored any longer.
Together we WILL break the silence, and make a difference for the children of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Who I'd like to meet:

We are registered with the charity commission as a not for profit organisation, and with HMRC as a charity for tax purpose...the exemption number which can provided to any legitimate organisation that may need to see it with regards to sponsorship...we are legally allowed to raise funds for the furtherance of our own work...and we qualify for Gift Aid on all donations made to us by UK tax payers.
The nature of our organisation means that we do not in fact have to be registered with the Charity Commission at all....as long as we comply with all the rules set down by the commission for Not Profit Organisation. The reason we are not as yet a registered charity is that in order to become one there must be a balance of £5000 in a business bank account in the name of the organisation...which is of course in place as required by law...but to go for full registration we had to raise that initial amount...which is what we have been doing. Our books and accounts are fully audited once a year as the law demands...and we are working completely legally within the system laid down by the Charities Commission and HMRC.
Despite that fact that we do not by law have to become a fully registered charity...now we have raised the amount needed to do so we are once again applying for full registration as we feel that it is an important next step in furthering our work and allowing people to have faith in our legitimacy as an organisation...because of course we honestly DO understand people’s concerns regarding the huge amount of bogus *charities* that appear and disappear again just as quickly. We hope that this has reassured anyone who has legitimate concerns about us...we have always practised an open book policy, always made ourselves accountable to those that support us, and will always continue to do so!!

And so to the lighter side of our work.... The subject matter we deal with on a daily basis is hard, upsetting, emotionally draining...and absolutely imperative! We are all volunteers bringing different skills to this work...and while we are a registered non profit organisation we fund everything ourselves...and gladly so...therefore we have to come up with creative ways of raising funds for our work :)!! So pooling ideas, creative skills...and a sense of fun...we created The L'arpies :)...our official mascots! Every one of them is made and finished by hand and is unique...they come with their own number and certificate...and we really DON'T like parting with them....but of course we will!! If you would like to own one of our Little 'Appy Rock People...and show your support for our work ...we would love to make one especially for you!

RACPA and Music

Since we began this work...Team UK have held 15 live music events up and down the country...from Glasgow to Devon! The support we have received from venues...promoters...musicians...sound technicians...and of course members of the public...has been amazing!

Our gigs allow us to work in the REAL world...to reach out in a comfortable, informal and enjoyable way ...to make a literal LOUD noise for the victims and survivors of child pornography and abuse...and to gather more voices to add to ours!!!
