The Rock Hall has three theaters which take visitors on a cinematic journey through rock and roll history: Mystery Train and Kick Out the Jams in Theater One and Two examine the roots of rock and its continuing evolution today. The It’s Only Rock 'N' Roll theater presents a special film depending on the featured exhibit.
The Hall of Fame, a dramatic multi-media gallery combines film footage, music interviews, animation and photography on three giant screens to tell the story of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is the nonprofit organization that exists to educate visitors, fans and scholars from around the world about the history and continuing significance of rock and roll music. It carries out this mission both through its operation of a world-class museum that collects, preserves, exhibits and interprets this art form and through its library and archives as well as its educational programs.
The Museum is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. On Wednesdays (and Saturdays through Memorial Day), the Museum is open until 9 p.m. Museum admission is $22 for adults, $17 for seniors (65+), $13 for youth (9-12), $18 for adult residents of Greater Cleveland. Children under 8 and Museum members are free. The Museum is generously funded by Cuyahoga County residents through Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. This is the first major artifact-driven exhibit about Springsteen’s legendary career. It is a comprehensive look at his music, from such early bands as Child, the Castiles and Steel Mill through his work with the E Street Band and as a solo artist. The exhibit also includes several of Springsteen’s guitars, including the Fender Telecaster that is on the cover of Born to Run. Also featured is the outfit he wore on the cover of Born in the U.S.A., as well as numerous handwritten lyric manuscripts, posters and handbills from all phases of his career, and various awards and honors. In addition, the exhibit includes Springsteen’s 1960 Chevrolet Corvette, which he purchased after the success of Born to Run. The exhibit will run through the spring of 2010.
