Described by fans as "Progressive rock with a chill groove," ARCHAICA has been writing original music, playing shows, and creating a strong fan base since early 2007.
Eric (vocals) writes lyrics with a purpose, "People want to hear music that they can relate to, music they can sing along to and get stuck in their heads." Describing performances, Thompson (bass) said, "If they just wanted to hear the music, they could stay home and listen to the CD. We give them a show to remember." These performances have been described by ARCHAICA fans as, "energetic", "engaging", and "intense." Jordan (drums) describes his drumming style as, "A powerful force that engages the crowd. I like to try to create a melody of my own." Jason (guitar) writes solos and riffs with one simple goal, "To melt people's faces."
ARCHAICA has played at The Fine Line, G.B. Leighton's Pickle Park, The Coffman Union at the University of Minnesota, Basillica Block Party's Battle of the Bands, The Bar Fly, the Twin Cities Marathon, The 400 Bar, and will be playing more shows in new locations soon.
I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a new tune called Run Bobby Run:
