Lions, Tigers, Bears, Dragons, The Sound of 100 Samurai Warriors
Sounds Like
Everything you love but like nothing you've heard before, played on acoustic guitar and sang with a voice which sounds like honey dipped in barb-wire that's on FIRE.
To further cement I Fight Bears reputation as "The nicest rock star since Dave Grohl", he will be playing a mammoth charity gigathon in Dundee on Saturday 26th April. Named the somewhat wordy The I Fight Bears Charity Gigathon, it will be a phenomenal day with 40ish minutes of material stretched out over an incredible 8 hours!
Seriously though, it'll be great and it's all for Oxjam, easily the greatest charity-backed nationwide musical festival. All money raised over the day will be going to Oxfam, who will use it to do very very good things.
Confirmed venues so far include:
Malones
Social
The Wesport Bar
The Nether Inn
& many, many more!
See you there!
P.S. If you want to donate without even leaving the comfort of your computer chair, please go here: http://www.justgiving.com/oxjamdundee
Oxfam GB is a registered
charity (no 202918) & a member of Oxfam
International. Oxfam works with others to find lasting solutions to
poverty and suffering.
I Fight Bears Bio
I Fight Bears is the highly charged band/pseudo-name of Nicky Hunt, a Dundee based rock star. Nicky likes rocking out on stage, and talking about himself in the 3rd person.
Using only a beat up acoustic guitar and a voice which is simultaneously brutal and melodic I Fight Bears is quickly becoming the GREATEST MUSICIAN OF ALL TIME. His live shows are talked about in hushed voices, their electric, raw power leaving their mark for hours, sometimes days after the event.
Some people say that they see fire come out of the guitar and lick his fingers as he plays and dragons with the heads of lions erupt from his throat. Sometimes those people are dismissed as crazy madmen, but that doesn't make it any less true.
hey, just a heads up to let you know i'm playing an acoustic gig ( headlining ) at lauries bar in glasgow on thursday the 9th of november. only £3.50 enty so hope you can make it

Acoustic Brew Presents... Dan Lyth - 13th January - 8pm
Dan’s music is majestic yet still revels in it’s own simplicity. Combining gentle acoustic guitar with an eclectic mix of lo-fi sounds he creates stunningly tender songs. Dan’s debut album has just been released to amazing critical acclaim and he just finished recording a Radio 1 session with Vic Galloway. This is a great chance to catch Dan live in the intimate setting of Cafe Fresh. You won’t be disappointed. www. myspace. com/danlyth
“not since Damien Rice's 'O' has a debut album been presented with such self-assurance” - Daily Record Saturday Plus
Tackety Boot at Betty Nicols feature night - 3rd December from 8pm. Acoustic Duo playing mainly home grown tunes with a comedic slant on many diverse subjects - outrageous and a great start to your festive season.
Hope you can make it along to see Kyle on Tuesday. Read this review to find out why he deserves a huge crowd...
For Kyle - like a new folk Sonic Youth – the acoustic guitar is an integral part of his show. He deftly caresses, tickles and taps all over the instrument to tease out his affecting songs. Kyle's carefully pitched voice lilts and dips in and around his guitar stylings in a most hypnotic fashion. (review by the-fly. co. uk) www. myspace. com/kylecuthbert
The night will be hosted by the truly wonderful The Johnstown Flood.
*****Special Guest Appearance by Norman Lamont****
Acoustic Brew Presents The Johnstown Flood and Jack Wardell - 4th November - 8pm
Hiya, hope you can make it along on Tuesday to Cafe Fresh
Jack writes with a maturity that belies his tender years. A voice like honey! Lyrically he has the pastoral qualities of Nick Drake whilst recalling great American songwriters like Townes Van Zandt, Paul Simon and Conor Oberst. www. myspace. com/jackwardell
