WELCOME TO THE GRAND CENTRAL MYSPACE
Dedicated to live music at Grand Central, 80 Oxford Street, Manchester. M1 5NH.
Grand Central is at the very heart of Manchester's rock & metal scene, in a central location & within easy reach of the Manchester Universities, all the rock clubs, local transport, including Oxford Road rail station which is virtually directly behind our building. Also very close to the Metrolink tram system.
Normally we run the gigs on Thursdays but where we think it's an excellent idea we also do the occasional "special" on another day of the week.
Grand Central has been involved in live music for quite some time, but the past 2 years has undoubtedly been its' best period for free live music/rock & metal events. In the vast majority of cases the organisation & approach seems to be very well apprecaited by bands & fans.
In 2009 we held the North West area's only Metal 2 The Masses/Battle 4 Bloodstock battle of the bands contest. The worthy winners were Bisonhammer who went on to enjoy their excellent prize by getting to play the Bloodstock Open Air Festival in August 2009. Grand Central intends to take part in the Metal 2 The Masses contest each year, which again reinforces its' rightful place as the best rock & metal bar in the city.
Grand Central provides a large powered Mackie PA system, 2x 18" dual subs & 2x 15" full range top cabs. 2x 12" Laney front monitors & 1x 15" Stageline drum sidefill monitor. Also lighting rig & smoke machine. All taken care of by trusty soundman Chris & his sidekick Crazy Mike.

These are our last 2 shows of 2009 so looking forward to seeing this year out with a bang. The calender for 2010 is already looking healthy & we start back on January 7th with Skin The Pig / Sworn To Oath / They Attack At Dawn. Thanks to all for the fantastic support in 2009. We have put a new song up for you, it’s only a rough demo which hasn’t really been mixed well and hasn’t been produced but it will give you a taster of what may come next in our next recording sessions early next year.
