About me: I am of Polish and Irish descent, born in the UK. First name is pronounced with a Y.(Kooper is my broadcast surname- easier to pronounce!) I am a collector and dealer in rare vinyl and cds, video dvd etc. with my own website www.dimension7.co.uk Also I present shows on two internet radio stations both live and pre-recorded on www.raidersbroadcast.com & www.rivergibbsfm.com (see radio presenter-view more above). Music alone may not change the world, but like all great art it can make a difference. Not just the commercial stuff, but also the influential and creative artists of then and now, who use sounds and words to make a statement. I have broad tastes in all kinds of music. Rock in particular, has been the soundtrack to much of my life. Coming from blues and folk roots,it was the first popular music form to have a global impact. At its best and like all good music, it can raise awareness of the human condition. Putting aside cynicism, I think Live Aid type world concerts were good attempts at addressing world issues through entertainment(and you also have to combine integrity with an ability to party!). The only politics I really care about are the global ones: preserving human rights, preventing unnecessary wars and saving the planet/environment.(In other words, cut the corporate hypocrisy and get real). Music and art provide a cathartic release and still a good reason to party!
My chronological age is 61, but a biological age of 45ish (on a good day!) with a slim build and a broad mind. That is a recent photo. Anyway, ageism is crap along with racism and sexism... This is one dinosaur that's learned to adapt...
Who I'd like to meet: Like-minded people for business/networking/friendship.
It would be so easy for me to triple my number of myspace friends in a few weeks, if I contacted every unsigned band I liked that wanted airplay on my shows, but I believe in quality rather than quantity. This is not about my ego but my love of music and it's easier to try and keep in touch with a smaller number of people.

Static Rain is a 2 piece band from the beautiful Yorkshire town of Keighley. Band members Tony Garthwaite and Jacob Barlow formed the band in 2008, driven by a joint passion for both electronic music and retro synths. The music they produce can be described as electronic pop with catchy choruses and memorable riffs that are prominent in all of their songs, making them popular with a very wide audience.
Following their initial success on MySpace, Static Rain continues to build a solid fan base and a strong reputation as a live act. The band is currently looking for gigs from June 09 onwards throughout the whole of the UK.
