Club History
RC United will play its first season in the Southeast region of the NPSL (National
Premier Soccer League) in 2008. The NPSL is a 35-team national soccer league with 5
regions, including the new Southeast region. The 10 game regular season runs during
May, June and July ending with playoffs and a championship final four on the first
weekend in August against the other regional winners. RC United will compete against
teams from Birmingham, Mobile, Atlanta, and Greenville (SC) in league play. In
addition to league play, RC United will host Monterrey of the Mexican First Division in
an exhibition game and enter into the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, the oldest annual
tournament in US sports history, tracing its origins to 1914.
