More than fifty concerts in one year, including a transcanadian tour with Ripcordz, one with Dayglo Abortions, the launch of a 7 songs EP, the shooting of a movie (« 3 Saisons » by Jim Donovan, coming out this fall), no one can say that Rockets Away like to take it easy nor that it took time for them to… take off!
And they deserve it! Mixing skills and experience, like they do with The Clash and the new millennium, this punk rock crew has been seen working like crazy on every stage for the past ten years: the leader Alex Stars, voice and guitar, previously of the Ripcordz; Ryan Stick, voice and bass, ex-singer of Judgmental and Evil Boys; and Marc-André Pilon, drums and voice, coming from Les Ordures Ioniques.
Une cinquantaine de concerts en un an dont une tournée transcanadienne avec Ripcordz, une avec Dayglo Abortions, le lancement d’un EP 7 titres, la participation au tournage d’un film (« 3 Saisons » de Jim Donovan, sortie prévue cet automne), on ne peut pas dire que les Rockets Away aiment chômer ni que cela leur a pris du temps pour… décoller!
Et avec raison! Mariant talent et expérience, tout comme ils le font avec The Clash et le nouveau millénaire, cette troupe punk rock a été vue sur les planches montréalaises un peu partout dans les 10 dernières années, que ce soit le leader Alex Stars, voix et guitare, anciennement bassiste de Ripcordz, ou Ryan Stick, voix et basse, ex-chanteur de Judgmental et des Evil Boys, ou encore Marc-André Pilon, batterie et voix, préalablement dans les Ordures Ioniques.
