Rock For AIDS Awareness is a program of Rock Your Awareness (www.rockyourawareness.org), a non-profit organization led by young people for young people. Rock for AIDS Awareness aims to reduce stigma about testing, increases HIV/AIDS awareness and connect young adults to community resources for sexual health education. This exciting program takes place annually (around World AIDS Day- December 1st) as a benefit concert uniting cutting edge music, young people and community partnerships for empowerment towards social change and peer outreach. We collorborate with local public health organizations (AIDS Coalition Silivon Valley, Planned Parenthood, Health Trust, Bill Wilson Center, The Crane Center, SJSU Peer Health Education and more). RFA's Mission: Raise awareness! To reduce new cases of STI / HIV / AIDS among young people and provide them with the resources needed for sexual health education. Eventually turn Rock For AIDS Awareness into a national college campaign.

In 2003, Vanae Tran organized an intimate karaoke fundraiser for the Silicon Valley Walk for AIDS. For the following year in 2004, Vanae created Rock for AIDS Awareness concert to focus on connecting young people with our great community resources for testing, preventative education, and increasing HIV/AIDS/STI awareness. What better way to educate and connect people than through live music?! Looking for a noble and rewarding cause to support? Child Of The King Inc is a non for profit organization whose mission is to reach out to homeless and runaway teenagers. We offer them temporary shelter, counseling, and resources needed to get off the streets and find stability in their life. Many are abused, pregnant, and/or drug addicted girls. We also work with boys who have no parents or broken homes with no guidance. We are looking for monthly sponsorship partners who have a heart that desires to reach out to these teens and show them a better reality than what they are in now. The California Proposed Budget Cuts includes eliminating programs and services to people that have HIV/AIDS as well as vital health programs and services for children and the frail elderly!!!!
This would mean that if people don't have money to pay for their medication or for medical visits, the will end up in emergency rooms. Also, if programs are eliminated, we won't be able to educate people about HIV/AIDS and can spread even more. WE ARE ABOUT TO SAVE PEOPLE'S LIVES!

About this page: I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D
