The Town of Cary, N.C. will again play host to one of the country’s most unique music festivals as the 2nd Annual Benefit Concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum returns to Booth Amphitheatre on Sunday, September 6. Its success has attracted the attention of world renowned performers and music fans alike.
The sensational concert line-up will include performances by:
· 2009 Rock Hall Inductee Darryl McDaniels, best known as D.M.C. from hip-hop group Run-D.M.C.;
· Legendary female rocker Patty Smyth and her 1980s band Scandal;
· Alternative rockers Blessid Union of Souls and Nine Days
· Midwestern roots favorite the Freddy Jones Band
· Two Southern rock standard bearers -- the Atlanta Rhythm Section and the Georgia Satellites
· 94 East with former members of Prince’s famed bands The Revolution and Grand Central in a musical tribute to the 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee.
In addition, the show-stopping configuration of the White Sox All-Star Band will make a return appearance with legendary Yes drummer Alan White; Queen members Spike Edney and Jamie Moses; Former Journey lead singer Jeff Scott Soto; Superstar guitarist and Jimi Hendrix tribute performer Randy Hansen; World-renowned electric rock violinist Geoffrey Castle; and Progressive rock bass guitarist Bernt Bodal. The superstar line-up is planning a 90-minute set of rock classics that is sure to bring the house down.
Tickets for the benefit concert are available at all Ticketmaster outlets or the Booth Amphitheatre box office. Ticket prices range from $35 to $100. A limited number of four packs consisting of four lawn seats for $96 are also available while supplies last. Kids 12 and under will be admitted to the lawn free of charge. (June 24, 2009) – Organizers of the 2nd Annual Benefit Concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum slated for September 6, 2009 at the Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, N.C. today announced the configuration of the White Sox All-Star band and fans of British rock superstars Queen are sure to be excited. This year’s version of the White Sox will include:
~Legendary Yes and Plastic Ono Band (John Lennon) drummer Alan White;
~Queen keyboardist and vocalist Spike Edney;
~Fellow Queen and Mike and the Mechanics guitarist and backing vocalist Jamie Moses;
~Former Journey lead singer and current Trans-Siberian Orchestra vocalist Jeff Scott Soto;
