Why Rescue?
Each year, 9.7 million animals are euthanized in shelters. That equates to roughly 64% of the total number that enter shelters. These animals may be put down due to overcrowding, illness, aggressive behavior, injuries, or suffering from something else. Fifty-six percent of dogs and 71% of cats that enter animal shelters are euthanized. More cats are euthanized because they are more likely to enter a shelter without owner identification. Only 15% of dogs and 2% of cats that enter animal shelters are reunited with their owners. Roughly 25% of the cats and dogs that enter animal shelters are adopted.
Currently there are “no-kill” shelters in place, but just like state-controlled counterparts, they are overcrowded and in need of assistance. Many shelters are unable to screen applicants and help match animals with the best families. Even "no-kill" shelters have a high return rate of animals – often seeing the same animal not once, but many times over the span of its lifetime. These multiple returnees become not only a burden to their former owners, but also to the shelter systems. They deplete needed funding to help with care and placement of animals that could be placed far easier. Over time, these hard-luck cases encounter brick walls in the established system, finding no other place to go than authorization facilities.
Rescue operations step in at this point (often times earlier) to help our furry homeless friends find their forever homes. Run solely on a volunteer basis, rescue groups grow and expand as communities become more aware of the needs of homeless animals. Rescuers open up their homes, hearts and wallets as they reintegrate these animals into needed, loving and nurturing environments. Animal rescuers need your help – they can’t do it alone.
These are the main reasons Rockin’ for Rescue was formed. Its founders wanted to incorporate two of their great loves – music and animals.
Rockin’ for Rescue began with five “rockin’ chicks” – modern crusaders with “Rock and Roll deep in their souls”. They saw the needs of their furry friends, and in a moment of sheer epiphany decided to put on a musical rock show for donations. This show was the beginning and the first CD with music donations from Edie Brikkell, The Clicks, Sarah Bettens, Jen Foster and many other animal-loving musicians and groups.
Rockin’ for Rescue is building momentum. It is growing. It is vibrant – and it is LOUDLY bringing help in the form of important financial assistance to a growing need in the animal care system.
Rockin’ for Rescue is a 501(c)(3) organization that funds legitimate 501(c)(3) animal rescue operations that meet the organization’s requirements for rescue excellence - including helping to find and maintain a pet’s final loving home. By donating to this 501(c)(3) organization, you know your tax deductible donation will be used in the continuation of these noble efforts.

Mission Statement:
Dedicated to eliminating euthanasia as population control of homeless pets by creating awareness through public education and events, and providing no-kill, non-profit animal rescue organizations monetary and other support.
Vision:
A world where we all understand that animals have feelings and souls -- that euthanasia is not a solution to the pet overpopulation problem. Every animal deserves a loving forever home with a warm bed, plenty of food, exercise, love, and compassion.
Thanks a lot for the add!!! We’re just a small band, but we’d be delighted if you listened to our Garage Rock songs and you sent us any kind of comment!! ☠

IMPORTANT!! TELL EVERYONE!!! sign petition- NO to Mike Vick as a PITBULL spokesperson ANYWHERE! CLICK HERE TO SIGN PETITION
Vick as a PITBULL Spokesperson!? Target: HSUS,PETA ,Commissioner, NFL, Roger S. Goodell Sponsored by: ADVOCATE FOR SAVING DOGS PETA even considered helping Vick get back into the game by making him an animal-rights spokesperson! Mr. Vick will try to rehabilitate his image. People with knowledge of his comeback plan said it will also include mea culpa TV interviews, PSAs and charitable donations to other animal-rights organizations (or perhaps the formation of his own foundation), along with the possibility of working with HSUS. But this might be the mother of all PR jobs. Mr. Vick's obstacles are many: a hard-line NFL commissioner who wants to see "genuine remorse" before reinstating Mr. Vick to the league; individual franchises that might be wary of the backlash and potential damage to their brands from signing Mr. Vick; and an incredulous public that remains shocked by the story.
