Cancer, in all of its deadly forms, seems to be affecting our families, friends, and loved ones more than ever. We are all aware of how devastating these illnesses can be, and the long, hard road so many have traveled to battle and overcome this disease. There is a wonderful, loving lady in our community named Victoria "Ticker" Landers, who is currently fighting stage IV colon cancer. She is a vibrant, loving and extremely strong person. She has 3 daughters (two of which are under 18) that are standing strong by her side everyday. That got her friends and co-workers thinking, "What can we do to help?"
Our goals are to generate colon cancer awareness within our community, and to support families and friends that have experienced the effects of colon cancer with a benefit in honor of our special lady, Ticker. It has been brought to our attention that knowledge of symptoms, treatments, and prevention of colon cancer are not as openly discussed or as widespread as other types of cancer. Thus, we invite you to join us for "Rocking for Tick Tock." Assist us in bringing this silent killer into the public conscience, and raise funds for Ticker and her family while having an awesome time! We will be donating 20 percent of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society to further research to help find treatments and a cure for this disease and the other 80 percent will go to Ticker & her family.
This event will be held on Sunday, SEPTEMBER 9th at HANNAH FLANNAGAN'S Irish Pub (27 Biltmore Ave.) in downtown Asheville. The benefit will BEGIN AT NOON and go until 1:30 AM. There will be a variety of ARTWORK displayed for silent auction, multiple performances by various MUSICIANS and MANY MORE ACTIVITIES to help this cause. We would appreciate your support in joining us for this event to honor a dear friend, sister, and mother... Victoria "Ticker" Landers. There are several ways in which donations can be taken at the event. If you OR your business would like to donate in non-monetary forms such as gift certificates, food, drinks, etc., feel free to contact us and we will arrange to set that up prior to the event.
