« Ugly Scotty », c’est une belle voix : chaude, remplie d’émotions et de cris à la vie. C’est quelqu’un qui donne beaucoup aux gens avec qui il accepte de travailler ; excellent compositeur, arrangeur et guitariste de talent, il se moule à divers univers musicaux.
Sur 20 ans, il a participé à plusieurs centaines de concerts (la liste est longue) et une dizaine de groupes. Il débute comme guitariste à l’âge de 14 ans. En 1988, il débarque à Liège. En 1994, son band « Counter Boys » est repris à la première édition de la Fiesta du Rock (Flémalle) ; en tout il participera 5 fois à ce Festival belge. 2003, on le retrouve dans le trio psychédélique de blues, les « Bolloxs ». Il est aussi apprécié dans des formations aux styles punk, rock, ska, reggae, blues, boogie, … : « Night train », « Old bollocks », « Catfish boogie », « So be it » « Les fous du roi », « Rashness », « The Rats », …. En 2006, il rejoint «Captain Pogo and the Sex Toys», puis en 2007 «Jungle Trip», et en 2008 «Kitty Mahaalbaf». Il accompagne également « Céline K » à la guitare acoustique. De toutes ses collaborations, celle ou Scotty s’exprime le plus singulièrement dans une sorte de cabaret déjanté est sans conteste « Kitty Mahaalbaf ». En 2009, il forme un duo remarquable avec Jasmine Tamaz, « Stupid Peggy & Ugly Scotty » (reprises de chansons françaises réalistes et de bon vieux blues des années 30).
Rockeur aux influences multiples (Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Vince Taylor, The Meteors, Howlin‘ Wolf, John Lee Hooker, J.B. Lenoir, André Williams, Johnny Cash, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, The Ramones, Motorhead,… etc.) il est aussi habile à l’harmonica (et d’autres instruments comme la batterie, la basse, le synthétiseur, le saxophone).
Habitué à jammer, ses riffs de guitare implacables réalisent une synthèse incroyable entre le blues passionné et la flamme de punk rocker qui met le feu aux tripes à quiconque se laisse prendre par son énergie horizontale.
Révélation dans sa carrière musicale. C’est en Auvergne (Fr), en été 2008, qu’il vient sur le devant de la scène : en solo avec sa guitare Fender, il joue ses propres créations artistiques et des reprises rock'n'roll. Ce musicien à la vigueur débordante balance des chansons blues-rock-punk avec un groove percutant et une profondeur qui interpelle ; on a la sensation qu’il est un orchestre à lui tout seul, que la guitare lui est greffée à un cordon ombilical tant les notes coulent avec une aisance déconcertante. Il est “unité“ avec la musique. Le public est vite fasciné par cet artiste original dont la prouesse hallucinante nourrit l’admiration.
« Ugly Scotty », c’est un “loups racé“ qui a l’âme sur le visage, une puissance délicatement au service de textes et de musiques qu’il écrits. Il faut le voir en live pour le capter dans son intensité car il joue avec sensibilité, maturité et fluidité.

" Ugly Scotty ", it is a beautiful voice : warm, filled with feelings and shouts to the life. He is someone who looks to people a lot with whom he agrees to work; excellent composer, arranger and talented guitarist, he grinds in diverse musical universes.

Been used to jammer, his merciless guitar riffs realizes an incredible synthesis between the fascinated blues and punk's flame rocker who sets your cuts on fire to whoever is allowed set by his horizontal energy.
Revelation in his musical career. It is in Auvergne (Fr), in summer, 2008, that he comes on the front of the stage : solo with his Fender guitar, he plays his own artistic creations and songs rock 'n' roll. This musician in the overflowing vigour rocks songs blues/punk/rock based songs with a hard-hitting groove and a depth which calls; we have the sensation that it is an orchestra by himself, that the guitar is transplanted to him in an umbilical cord so much notes flow with a disconcerting ease. He is "unity" with the music. The public is fascinated fast by this original artist whose hallucinating exploit feeds the admiration.
"Ugly Scotty", it is one " wolf thoroughbred " who has the soul on his face, a power delicately in the service of texts and of musics that he writes. You gotta see him live to get him in his intensity because he plays sensitively, maturity and fluidity.
