MUSIC! It is life itself. I am a frustraited artist, doing mostly pen and ink drawings. I enjoy building plastic models, and am a huge soccer fan.
My baseball team is the Chicago White Sox, and has been since I was eight years old! I will never call their new ballpark anything but Comiskey Park.
Like most Chicagoans, I'm a hardened Bears fan. I have followed the "Monsters of The Midway" since they played the Chicago Cardinals at Wrigley Field! My favorite football memory is of Dick Butkus, the famed middle linebacker, hitting a Detroit Lion player during a Thanksgiving game, and knocking him out!
Music
If it's blues, then I'm listening! The old rock classics from the 60's always get me going, they have lasting power, surviving for over forty years! When all else fails, I put on some Beach Boys tracks while driving...and let the music transport me back in time.
I am a harmonica player, drummer, and lead singer in an all teacher rock band. We play all types of music, and won a battle of the bands at Walter Paytons Roundhouse in Aurora, Illinois.
Movies
This list changes, I have been around to long to have a solid list. However, among my top movies are: Animal House, The Buddy Holly Story, Cool Hand Luke, Help!, In Cold Blood, Das Boot, Apocolypse Now, The Exorcist, The Haunting (60's version), Glory, A Clockwork Orange,JFK, Pulp Fiction, That Thing You Do, Dances With Wolves, Psycho, Vertigo, Twelve O'Clock High, Endless Summer, any of the Chevy Chase "Vacation" movies, Play Misty For Me, Blade Runner, and American Grafitti.
Television
I'm not a fan of commercial television, I consider most of it very cookie cutter, that is, all the same! I watch cable, including anything on the history channel, and any of the movie channels. I am a huge fan of the Ghost Hunters on the SciFi Channel! My favorite old school TV was Monty Python, and the original Saturday Night Live shows..."Jane you ignorant slut"...Chevy Chase and crew had it going on! Also, I'm a huge cartoon fan, I love the old classic ones, as well as some modern classics, Ren And Stimpy, and South Park!
..
Books
Anything historical, especially if it's American military history. I love to read Stephen King, and books that contain mysteries. I am currently reading, In The Woods. This is a mystery/thriller about three children who go to play in the woods. Later only one is found, clinging to a tree, in blood filled sneakers!
My father was an inspiration to me throughout my
life. I miss him greatly. He taught me to be tolerant
of differance, and to love all types of music.
The real heros of today are those young men and women currrently serving in the armed forces. They do a job without hesitation, and all that they ask is for YOU to care about them regardless of the politics!

About me:
WELCOME TO THE MySPACE VERSION OF ROCKIN' WITH RICK KARAOKE!
..
I'm a refugee of the 60's. I still hold onto the spirit of "PEACE & LOVE" from then! Music, art, and the oceans, are what drive my soul.
I played drums and sang lead in several garage bands back in school. Man the music had so much energy! It was an exciting time, funny how we focus on the goodtimes, and let the bad ones fall off of the face of the earth.
I was one of the first guys to surf The Great Lakes! In high school, my band mate Larry and I each bought surf boards sight unseen from a surf shop in Santa Monica California (no internet). I lived a block off of Lake Michigan, and I was a sight walking across Lake Shore Drive with my 9'5" yellow and white board!
We actually formed The East Point Surf Club, and drove around the Great Lakes looking for waves. The funny part of it was that the best surf condition on the lake was during the early spring, and in the fall. So it was cold.
Once in a while, we'd get a summer storm and get a little warm weather surfing in.
It's my hope that those of you who sing with me at my karaoke venues enjoy the experience. Don't forget to visit the website, for information regarding each of my venues!
Who I'd like to meet:
Brian Wilson, John Kennedy, Ghandi, and Martin Luther King Jr.

Had a great time with you on your birthday - wish we could've stayed longer, I can't wait til you post up some pics from there - I forgot to take any while we were there!!
Rick, Last night was great. I love watching Dan/Shelly as they watch each other sing. Gus/Diane invited me to their table. Gus did Imangine for me. Monk was at his best. Bob /Shelly did Simon/Garfunkle. Ryan is so much fun. It was good to see Bobby. And you thought of my boy. What you have created at The Duck is special and I am graetful to be part of it. Thanks Rick and thanks for Brandi.
Showin some love! Didn't forget about you. You will hopefully get to meet my sister soon. She'll be here August 7th. Goin to American English and I think it's August 15th. You should come. Fun times! I'll look it up to make sure. Miss ya! :)
Thank you! :) I'd be coming out to see you, but my designated driver prefers to stay close to home for my celebration! lol. I'll see you when I'm back from Vegas for sure tho!
