Rock Iowa: Authentic, independent culture and community.

Rock Iowa provides a voice to our community’s authentic art, music and culture. It exists as a network of people and information - fans and bands, photos and blogs. Our contributors spend their time and energy exploring the people and things important to them.

We’re here to explore the shared experience of culture and community and create a dialogue surrounding the evolving cultural narrative. We’re supergroupies and critics, journalists and musicians. A little bit of anything and everything authentic and independent.

We invite you to join this dialogue: challenge us, surprise us, inform us, and, if you’re inspired, join us.

If you want to get your group or event featured on Rock Iowa, drop us a line. We have one rule and one rule only: it's got to be genuine. No top 40 crap. No cover bands. No corporate art. But if you're doing something genuine because you love it we don't care if it's jazz, graffiti, DJ'ing, sculpture, independent theatre, whatever. Anywhere in Iowa is fair game, too, though most of our staff are currently in Des Moines. You can message us on MySpace or find more information on our website.

We're also looking for writers, photographers and videographers interested in going to events for free and helping cover the creative scene in Iowa.
