Interests

  • General

Interests to me is subjected to three catagories.....Nicole, Bouldering/Rockclimbing and Architecture.

Nicole has been more than just anyone that I, on the surface, respect. I have grown to love her SO much and call her my bestfriend. It's true when people totally say that diversity is part of wisdom. Sure, we may argue about different things, but the most important, and amazing, part is that because of our different ways/views of looking at things, our teamwork helps us face any problem. Makes Life fun. I couldn't have found or ask for a cooler person to hang with.

Bouldering and Climbing have inadverdently become a weird but very appreciated addition to my life. I've learned more things about myself because of my physical and mental attitude towards overcoming a "problem". The simple fact is; you can't force your attitude upon the rock. You can't. Trust me. I've tried. Getting mad at it isn't gonna help anything, neither is me sniffling at it in self-pity. In the end, all I answer to is me. Life is hard like that and I thank God for the opportunity to be able to climb. Patience, Finesse, Timing, Relaxing, Breathing, Concentration, and knowing When to Push hard are qualities that I can appreciate learning at this point in my life. Climbing isn't JUST an interest...it's just another way to learn about yourself.

Architecture is so the fluff of society. It's that whip cream topping to everyday life that you totally don't realize....until you work around it. I've learned that a building can make-or-break your attitude when it comes to work, eating, and just plain living. I love to see the positive attitude that most people feel when they get in "their favored environment". Lighting, Simple Line, Air Flow, Materials, Colors, and the subtlty of the Smallest Details is what brings your true attitude to light. The Architects that I work with are amazing to be around. They joke and play and poke-fun like anyone else, but the way they go about work is so Rich with ingenuity and creative aggression to make sure the EVERYTHING is just right. Working for people who are always very very detail oriented (obssesive compulsive) can be stressful, but after awhile it kinda grows on you and you begin to like the time and detail they put in for what they do. I'm probably gonna go back to School, but for right now, I love what I am doing.

About me:

Living in Buckhead, ATL and working for a small firm OTP. I'm 5'5" and I tend to spend the majority of my free time hangin with my two favoritisitisisits person/things in the world....my patient, beautiful, excepting, enduring, patient wife Nicole, and.....uh, Rocks, yeah I'm a pebble wrestler. If I'm not working or hangin and havin a blast with Nicole, then I'm side-pullin, sloper slappin, crimp crushin, back-steppin, dyno throttlin, gaston pressurin', and of course drop-knee pimpin my way up to the top of....Rocks. I'm pretty stoked about this time in my life because; I have a good job, I have a great loft apartment, I have an AMAZING woman, and I'm sending harder than I EVER have in climbing. Thank God everyday for what you have guys.....it's worth it. ....

Who I'd like to meet:

I think it would be an honor to meet and talk philosophy with Mitsumoto Mushashi.....he learned discipline and technique from traveling on the road and the hard lessons of life.....not from some discipline he studied. He made his own path....and for that I would really like to hear what he would say. Other people I would like to meet and learn how they work and concentrate/relax is (the usual climbing crew) James Litz, Chris Sharma, Dave Graham, and the cool oldies, like John Sherman, and Eiger (to bad he's dead).

So far as meeting new people....you can always gain more friends...I think I'm blessed to have a very cool group of friends and partners. The More the Merrier. Lates.
