Our Austin branch said it the best: Think indie-type stuff: punk, bluegrass, power-pop — stuff you don’t hear on the radio. Sometimes there’s acoustic stuff, but for the most part we prefer plugged in guitars and well-beaten snares.
Rock-n-Romp BOSTON
Great Scott, Allston (1222 Comm Ave.)
Romps give parents who miss their social life a chance to get out, enjoy some music that might be new to them, and expose their kids to great bands in a safe, friendly environment. What's not to love??
Who I'd like to meet: Parents and kiddies who dig the rock music and bands who aren't afraid to rock out in front of toddlers!
Obviously the best idea that has been previously overlooked in Boston! The only suggestion I heard was that a bigger venue may be needed next time! Well done Alterna-mom!
Thank you! What a blast that was! From the storytelling to the music to the great atmosphere, everything went perfectly. My son wants it to happen again -- exactly the same way!
great idea! parents will be in heaven for being able to have fun and not feel guilty for having to dump their kids on someone or for having a genuine good time without the kids. very few things will entertain both kids and parents so rock on!!
