   About Rock Plaza Central
"There's not much you can say about Rock Plaza Central that hasn't already been said. They're possibly one of the greatest bands that nobody knows and whilst they're slowly growing into a folk/rock beast of which the likes we've never seen, they still somehow retain a grounded, cohesive musical genius that you just don't see nowadays." - Strangeglue.com, July 25, 2009

When Rock Plaza Central first burst onto the scene in 2006, very few people had even heard of them. But on the strength of their live performances and their brilliant 3rd CD, Are We Not Horses, they made countless Top 10 lists in both 2006 and 2007, had their album studied in a graduate course at the University of South Alabama, and Rolling Stone called them "stars-in-waiting" after a performance at SxSW in Austin, Texas.

RPC has released four full-length CDs, including the critically acclaimed Are We Not Horses, about robotic horses who think they are real horses, and a new CD called ...at the Moment of our Most Needing, or If Only They Could Turn Around, They Would Know They Weren't Alone that many reviewers are claiming to be "their best work to date"!

Pleasecomethat'dbeawesome~!

Alternately/Additionally, we've been tossing around these half-formed potentialities lately about a grand old processional North American & Canadian tour in 2010, do our hellhardest to play shows with every band we love who reside in a major city...
Toronto would definitely be in our sights, and a show with the sincerely-esteemed Rock Plaza Central would be too. :-)

Nice article in this issue of Eye Magazine, "Light in August, a Depression-era novel which explores racism and classism in the American South. This became the jumping-off point for …at the moment of our most needing (Paper Bag), a darker and more raucous collection of songs that tease out the themes of isolation, existentialism and fruitless quests in Faulkner’s text (as well as drawing inspiration from some of its characters)"

Great in-store performance at Sonic Boom, props on the article in Exclaim Magazine as well, 'Throughout most of Needing, the band sound much heavier than their previous effort, especially closing track "The Hot Blind Earth," which can accurately be called Zeppelinesque through its string part's none-too-subtle nod to "Kashmir." Eaton is at ease explaining the change in musical direction at the heart of Needing, saying it was in part a reflection of the band's road consumption of classic rock radio in between readings of Faulkner'

What did you do to nearly get arrested in Kansas? I guess you really don't have to do much to get arrested there. I'm liking the new music. I'm in Chicago now, so I might catch your show here next week if I'm still around. Safe travels.
