Chris - Bass (I sing one line, in one song, does that count as vocals?)
Influences
Some say that Smiler were born with guitars and sticks already in their hands, those people would be wrong.
Smiler was not born, they have always been, rocking through the mists of time giving a rock soundtrack to the birth of the universe.
Every four centuries they come out of hibernation from their rock palace which can be found in a hollowed out mountain in Afgahnistan. With one purpose in mind, to release the power of rock back on the world, to unleash the grooves that travel along the floor and up your legs until you are forced to tap your feet. Some people, in some places, at sometime or another have even been known to dance.
Well fair enough, most of it is made up, we are a band, we come from edinburgh, we do rock but at least I have filled up what was once nothing but dead space.
On with the tunes.
Sounds Like
Sounds like? Can't you hear us? Turn you volume up and you tell us what we sound like.
So thats the new CD done, tracks to follow on here shortly or available on reverbnation now to download and listen for fans first, that doesn't mean you can't listen, just means you need to join the mailing list to get special access before they go out for everyone else. If you can't be bothered joining up then I guess you'll just have to sit tight for a bit
Should also have some more of the Melt EP pressed soon so that will be availabe for purchase from you friendly neighbourhood Smiler salesman.
Just add yourself to the mailing list and drop us a line, we can send it to you, or if you are local we can come and exchange it with you surreptitiously in the street in some strange music drug esque hand off. Or perhaps we could hide it somewhere in Edinburgh and have a little treasure hunt with clues and stuff, it'll be great!
Or you could always just come down to one of the gigs, details of which should be up soon, and listen to them live you know. Get out for a drink. Come and say hi. BRING A FRICKIN ARMY!
Numbers climbing again, nice to see. But hows about some of you try and help turn that into numbers in person and have a look at the gigs, see if you can make one, cause we would luv ta see ya there.
As before, I ain't giving the songs away for nothing anymore as the interest was to great last time, but I don't expect you to pay either. What you need to do is get yourself over to www.xfmuploaded.co.uk/smiler and give us a listen and a vote. You could then add yourself to the mailing list from the widget below and after you confirm your email (remember and check your junk just in case) you can contact me direct, tell me the song you are after and I will send you the MP3, or come along to a gig and buy one. You can also add yourself to the mailing list direct from our other site at www.reverbnation.com/smiler.
So while you are here, why not leave a comment either on here or on our pics, or take the Reverb Nation Player (10 songs on there folks, one a little attempt at a dance tune I done, meh I was bored), you can get the code by clicking the share button in the top right of the player.
