For those of you joining us for the first time, ROCK,STAR was formed by Zak Kaplan (currently of THE RATCHETS and formerly of WORTHLESS UNITED and MISS TK & THE REVENGE) and Sue Werner (formerly of STORMSHADOW and THE SHEMPS) in 1997. In 2000, Steve Asbury (currently of RIVER CITY REBELS and formerly of WORTHLESS UNITED, FAST TIMES, and STANDPOINT) joined up to play drums and Ed Joyce filled the bass duties. This lineup recorded a full length record and playing a handful of shows before disbanding a few months later. Now, in 2007, the band has decided to regroup and will release "Inamorato" on August 7th via Black Numbers. With Fid (currently of THE MEASURE and formerly of THE SCARLETT LETTER and FANSHEN) taking over the bass slot, ROCK,STAR has begun booking shows, the first being on June 30th at the Court Tavern in New Brunswick, NJ to celebrate the book release of "New Brunswick, New Jersey, Goodbye" along with The Degenerics and other friends new and old.

It's really cool to hear the tunes again. I gave my copy to Jen Guyre and I never got another one again. I'm so proud of these songs. Zak is one talented muhfucker. One of my favorite lyricist of all time. It was a pleasure to work with and play shows with Zak, Ed, and Sue. Miss you guys.
I cannot think of anything better than being 17 years old and blasting the rock, star demo every day in my Taurus station wagon, a blissful time when the only two things on your mind are grease trucks veggie fat cats and girls with glasses.
i do not like that anything i was involved in was described as limping. everything i have done has been strutting. i remember years back sue played a rock,star recording for me and i was like "what is this fm106.3 shit?" i guess that's what you were going for. i've come around a little since then. shit’s pretty good. this is the rock and the star. good night and good day.
