InfluencesThough this is a short list, I consider the legacy of music passed on to us from generation to generation, and there are so many wonderful artists to be grateful for because of their tenacious efforts, passion and courage to play from their heart, and let the music live on for generations!

So here is the short list of influences and inspirations:

YHVH- The Creator of Music, Dvorak, Bach, Brahms, Beethoven, Schumann, (especially their fugues) Wishbone Ash, Bread, Dan Fogelberg, Yes, Kansas, Tammy Rae, Doobie Brothers, Allman Brothers Band, James Gang, Joe Walsh, Rick Derringer, Pink Floyd, Grand Funk Railroad, Boston, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Petra, Phil Keaggy, Judy Boe, Roger Spindler, Ann Morrone, Chris Christensen, Tammy Borden, Scott Wilson, Ruth Brown (my mother - thank you Mom!) My Uncle Wayne for giving me my first acoustic guitar, Lori Jacobs and Karen Cheng for all of their great worship times on piano together...

   About En Gedi
En Gedi comes from the name of the ancient place in the Scriptures known as an oasis in the desert. Having been there personally, I have waded in the refreshing waters and rested in the shade this area still provides in the desert lands of Israel after 1000's of years. It truly is a unique area in the middle of a desert.

Music has always been a type of oasis for me, and to be able to create music for others to enjoy is meant to be that sort of oasis feeling as well.

I formally started my life as a musician around 8 years old. I took private lessons for violin for 4 years thanks to my dear mother and Mrs. Kyrst. There was something about the feel of wood and steel resonating in my ear that I could not get enough of. I took interest in guitar as well, taking a few lessons to learn my way around a fretboard. Piano was "required" instrument that I didn't do too well at, but I still loved the "wood & steel" concept and I would play piano every time I have the opportunity, just to enjoy the sound.

I played first chair for violin in high school orchestra and during those years, I also played electric bass in the school jazz band. We took 1st place at state competitions, including sight reading as well. I was a 70's rock band wannabe at the time, playing electric rhythm and lead guitar.

I also sang in choirs at church and loved the spiritual dynamics in music. Over the years I had the opportunity to play in church bands, lead music teams and sing for weddings. I have always felt a deep connection to our Maker, YHVH, and am so grateful for all He has done in my life!

Thanks for stopping by!

The Yellow Rose. More than a guitar, more than a work of art. You want to record it and I want to capture its visuals. Like I told Bruce, that piece is inspirational!

What can compare to any Shabbat where He reveals His wisdom to us in little nuggets yet so big in the scheme of things?

Did 30 miles yesterday. Can't get enough!

See you tomorrow!
