WEATHER FORECAST for Friday July 20, am clouds, pm sun - high 79, low 60. Saturday July 21, scattered clouds, high 80, low 59!!!!!!!!! No rain in the forecast!!! And we had no rain; beautiful weather all weekend! Not too hot, amazing for the end of July!
NOW, let's see what the weather will be like for October 4, 5, and 6.......YES, another festival is in the works with some old familiar faces from Rock The Point I, and some new faces; you'll love them all. I don't think we had one single bad band the first time around. They all rocked! How often do you see THAT? Usually you find one or two good bands at a festival and the rest are ok....but all of our bands were top notch! That's our goal for EVERY festival.
TICKETS AVAILABLE for music festivals - Contact me here or at IveWokenNow@aol.com or at 570 648 0480 to get tickets!
ROCK THE POINT was a weekend-long music festival held at Mossy Point Campground July 20-22, 2007.
Mossy Point is a campground in Bear Gap (near Elysburg) Pennsylvania. From the intersection of routes 54 and 487, drive for two miles on 54 toward Bear Gap/Numedia and watch for signs. It is secluded enough to have that "away from it all" feel but still close enough to drive to a store should there be something you need that you can't buy, borrow, or barter from someone else. Events here are BYOB. A permanent stage was built for Rock The Point and we look forward to using it for future events.
Ticket price for the first event included camping and live music all day Friday and Saturday, gates opened at 10 a.m. Friday. THIS WAS AN ALL AGES EVENT. Tickets the first time around were $30.00. This is TEN DOLLARS LESS than last time, and normally camping alone for one night is thirty bucks...for Rock the Point you get an extra night of camping AND more than a dozen bands PLUS acoustic acts for the price of one night of camping! BUT FROM NOW ON we are offering day passes...The costs are subject to change, but they will most likely be ten dollars per day, fifteen per day if you're camping, or 25 if you are staying for the whole weekend. Purchasing tickets ahead of time is encouraged.
Anyone interested in purchasing a vendor permit is encouraged to contact us...food, crafts, clothing, tattooing, etc. We have several different types of vendor permits ranging from ten dollars to a maximum of 125 dollars (which would be for a food vendor set up for the entire weekend). Our prices are very competitive compared to other festivals of this type. Contact me for information and pricing.
Bands, you are welcome to sell your cd's, t-shirts, lighters, panties, posters, bottle openers, etc. and tossing out free stuff to the audience is encouraged! This will be a great opportunity for exposure for your band as people come from several different states to these festivals. We also welcome musicians who want to perform short acoustic sets between bands.
We're looking for all types of bands who play all types of music, but the main thing is we want bands who just LOVE TO PLAY GOOD MUSIC and hang out with some really cool people. The atmosphere at the other festivals held here was very communal; people were sharing their food and drink with each other, meeting each other around the nightly bonfire, no problems, no fights, lots of dancing and hanging out, a really fun time.
We are also looking for sponsors....businesses, radio stations, etc. who wish to sponsor the festival in exchange for us advertising their product/company/service are welcome to display signs/banners/business cards at the festival. Anyone wishing to donate items/services/gift cards to be raffled off will get advertising in exchange as well. Also, sponsors, donors of raffle items, and vendors will have the opportunity to post their company banner on our myspace page.
If a radio station promotes this event, the station may set up and do a live remote from the campground and give out bumper stickers, tshirts, etc. You could get some free stuff and have the chance to say hi to your mom on the radio. We have contacted several stations, so let's see who bites.
Tshirts for the festival are available for purchase.
EVERYONE, especially bands interested in participating, please get everyone on your friends list to add us!
At Rock The Point I, Tattooing was provided on site by Blazing Angel Tattoo, located on Independence Street in Shamokin. Bodie from Roaring Creek Chicken and Ribs sold BBQ chicken. Ed Miller Concessions was on hand all weekend with the following items for sale - Ribeye steak sandwich, steakburger, philly cheese steak sandwich, Texas cheese steak sandwich, Chicken sandwich, hot sausage, fried shrimp, jumbo wings, french fries, cheese fries, meatball sandwich, chicken tenders, pizza, nachos & cheese, pickle on a stick, baskets and platters, Pepsi products, fresh brewed ice tea, and RED BULL!!!!!
