Rockwell Church's fifth album harnesses the energy and spirit of Rockwell Church in their moment. It represents their most accomplished and inspiring work to date - the album broaches new songwriting and arrangement frontiers for the duo while boasting trademark Rockwell Church melodies, harmonies, and diverse instrumentation.
Songs like "Kool-Aid Man" and "Chemical" visit themes of love and loss. "Second Door" relives an encounter with domestic abuse. "Star Over South Africa" is a solemn ode to an acquaintance killed in the post-apartheid violence before Nelson Mandela's release from prison. Antidote is passionate and moving throughout, at times joyous, at others mournful. It is the elegant signature of a band that has arrived.
Bio
Joti Rockwell and Nathan Church Hubbard sat next to each other in the first grade outside Washington, DC. They began writing and performing songs at age twelve. They released their first two full albums while still in college, teaming up with producers John Alagia (Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer) and Doug Derryberry (Bruce Hornsby, Earth to Andy). After college, they toured nationally and recorded more albums, sharing the stage with performers as diverse as Taj Mahal, Marc Cohn, Dar Williams, Francis Dunnery, and, in a particularly proud moment, Blue Oyster Cult.
Currently, they continue to record and perform while Joti works on a doctorate in Music Theory at the University of Chicago and Nathan runs a number of music businesses in Charlottesville, VA. Antidote, Rockwell Church's fifth and most recent album, represents their most accomplished work to date, broaching new songwriting and arrangement frontiers for the duo while maintaining trademark Rockwell Church melodies, harmonies, and diverse instrumentation.
Nathan Church Hubbard (Rhythm guitar / Lead vocals)
Taking the role of Rockwell Church's front man, Nathan sings lead vocals and plays rhythm guitar for the majority of the songs. But he brings a lot more than that to the band: catchy, intricate rhythm guitar riffs; profound and intelligent lyrics; bold and playful melodies; emotional performance.
Joti Rockwell (Lead guitar / Piano / Vocals / Etc)
Lead guitar (not to mention occasional piano, vocal, banjo, etc) is conquered by the one and only Joti Rockwell. Able to pick out the ring of a phone or the call of a fire siren on his guitar, Joti has an amazing ear. His remarkable talent with the guitar adds a depth to Nathan's songs that makes each come alive.

Tuck, you've gone too far! An ALIEN cyborg just crosses the line. BTW AD, I can't fit the whole set onto a CD using iTunes. Sigh. Use your witchcraft to make it work. I like the new layout too, btw. I won't steal this one.
Live show @ Jamin Java = Freaking awesome. Thanks to AD for uploading the entire set, in multiple formats. I'm beginning to think that you're a cyborg... You're too good.
I can't wait to see you guys in Vienna! I haven't seen a show since Boston in '02 or '03 maybe. Your music is great - awesome lyrics and the guitar work is amazing! I'm looking forward to it!
It's awesome that Nathan and his wife had their child. Congrats to them, but to us poor ol' fans that means no touring for quite some time again :( Don't mean to sound spoiled, but I miss the shows. Anyone who has seen a live show knows what I mean... There is nothing like it. I neeeeds it, my preciousssss.
Dudes - Kaufman asked Joti if he wanted him to make a sweet site for them and take care of all upkeep like 4 years ago and joti was like whatever doesn't really matter to us.
But the real question is, WHEN ARE WE GETTING a) new material b) anything that resembles a tour!!!!!!!!!1
oh yes i forgot to ask a question, maybe someone here can answer it. who is the donkey or donkeys that run / created/ up-keep rockwellchurch.com? i mean look at what you guys did with this site, what did it take, 10 minutes? we should get on that. rockwellchurch.com looks like a 4th grade computer lab project. rockwell church rules!
I think Talk So Heavy is a good, catchy song that a lot of people might latch on to. I've been trying to spread the word about RC for a while now, all my friends really like them, but its hard to force other people to listen... Once you start listening though, you get hooked.
