ROCK.OPERA.SXSW 2008!
Following on the success of our San Francisco “Rock Bands Rock Opera” party in October 2007, we ROCKED again on Monday, March 10, 2008 with SXSW at one of Austin’s coolest outdoor ampitheaters, Stubb's. Our "Rock Bands Rock Opera" SXSW 2008 party drew over 845 fans of music and technology.
The most rock-and-roll browser in the world, Opera, celebrated SXSW Interactive Week 2008 with several great rock bands from
Los Angeles: Gliss, Sabrosa Purr, and Taxi Doll and Austin-natives, Lomita and Oliver Future -- a band that was recently rated Best Live Band in Austin. The Norwegian label, Smalltown Supersound, supplied DJ entertainment at the end of the evening, and guest models donned Norwegian fashion by Moods of Norway in between sets throughout the show.
At Stubb’s indoor lounge and lower bar, guests posed for photoshoots while checking out demos of the latest versions of My Opera, Opera, Opera Mini, and the Wii Internet Channel! Some lucky guests even caught sneak previews of Opera Mobile 9.5.
