With their roots in the classic rock of the 60's and 70's, Shoot the Breeze represent a guitar based rock with focus on riffs and strong melodies. The result is a varied and at times innovative rock, with an expression many will recognize from "the great ones" of early rock n roll.
Founded in a small Norwegian town called Hokksund in the year 2004, the band that would become Shoot the Breeze started out as a trio with Mats Nedberg (guitars and vocals), Andreas “Andy” Baklid (drums) and Steffen “Lucky” Kjølstad (bass). Soon Tor Erik “Vinnie” Fredheim (guitars) would join them, and the band started composing and touring.
A few years, some minor releases, and the exit of Steffen and entry of Mats “Fowlie” Faugli on bass, the band started to get noticed for both their live performances, and their recorded material. Some support gigs for big Norwegian bands, a gig in connection to the Norwegian Øya festival and some airplay on British radio are all highlights of the bands early days, and the band continued to tour and release material.
In January 2008 the band took a huge step up, when Norwegian guitar legend Ronnie le Tekrø expressed that he liked the bands music, and booked them into his studio in August of 2008, whit himself as producer.
The result was a five-track EP with a modern-rock sound, very international and unlike any other Norwegian rock band before them.
With the new EP Shoot the Breeze is now ready to take the step up on the international rock scene. With a melodic sound that is both modern and true to the bands roots, Shoot the Breeze represents the future of rock, embracing both the traditions of the past, and the innovations of the future.
