"TODO MUNDO" - Receita para ser rapidamente esquecido no mundo da música pop: jogar todas as fichas no componente pop e esquecer-se de ser musical. Para o carioca Rodrigo Sha, essa nem chega a ser uma opção, já que seu cartão de visitas sempre foi o mesmo: tocar, tocar e tocar. E quem tiver alguma dúvida, que comece logo a ouvir esse Todo Mundo, CD que enfim reúne todos os Rodrigos que habitam o mesmo corpo: o saxofonista, o flautista, o violonista, o compositor de letra e música, o arranjador, o cantor... e a personalidade pop que encontrou na música o veículo para expressar as suas idéias. “E quem transforma um ambiente pela arte se estende / Vem me conhecer, vem se aproximar / Todo mundo tem a ver” – o convite, irresistível, está na doce drum n’bossa que dá título ao disco e que também serve como sua melhor porta de entrada. Porque Todo Mundo é, ao mesmo tempo, a cara de Rodrigo e o retrato da grande turma que ele naturalmente conseguiu agregar ao seu projeto musical. Do mestre da bossa nova Roberto Menescal ao DJ Nado Leal, todos foram chegando e acabaram achando um lugar confortável no universo musical de Rodrigo Sha. “Minha natureza é a mistura”, diz ele, um grande admirador do trabalho do saxofonista Branford Marsalis, jazzista de estirpe que levou virtuosismo ao pop e vice-versa, em discos como o hoje célebre Bring on The Night, de Sting.
Ser contemporâneo e manter a riqueza musical conquistada à base de muito estudo e incontáveis noites nos bailes da vida: essa é a proposta de Todo Mundo, disco produzido por Alex Moreira, tecladista e um dos fundadores do BossaCucaNova – banda com a qual Rodrigo vem correndo o mundo nos últimos anos. Com a ajuda de Alex, ele foi lapidando a faceta que considera ser a principal no trabalho de qualquer músico: a composição. “Tudo parte daí”, diz ele. “É onde você deixa a sua marca. E a sonoridade vem toda daí.” Assim, exceto por uma recriação pop do velho samba “Se Você Jurar”, de Ismael Silva (que praticamente virou uma música sua), todas as composições do disco são de Rodrigo – sozinho ou em parcerias.
“Tudo que eu quero / É me transformar / Em outra pessoa, num outro lugar / Onde a liberdade não é malandragem / É ingenuidade”, idealiza o músico em “Sol na Vida”, faixa que abre Todo Mundo com gosto de tarde na praia. Violão de samba, a percussão charmosa do mestre Laudir de Oliveira e uns tecladinhos climáticos (coisa de quem é admirador da eletrônica orgânica de Kruder & Dorfmeister e Thievery Corporation) dão a onda na desencanada “Trem”, outra das composições de Rodrigo que disputam um lugar na coletânea (ainda a ser feita) do pop brasileiro dos anos 00.
O desfile do compositor segue com “Multidão”, faixa com pulsação funk, mas bem no estilo anos 70, com flauta transversa, piano elétrico, scratchs de Nado Leal e mensagem alto astral: “e quem falou que existe regra pra viver?”. O clima bossa, herdeiro do projeto Brazilian Lounge (que Rodrigo montou no começo da década com o DJ Mam e que rendeu um bem-sucedido disco), ressurge em “Outra Lua”, que tem participação de Márcio Menescal, baixista do BossaCucaNova. E a faixa mais one-man-show de Todo Mundo é “Será Que Eu Vou”, que o músico compôs inteira e na qual ele tocou guitarra, bandolim e flauta transversa, além de fazer todos os vocais – o principal e os do coro. Restou a Alex Moreira cuidar apenas dos teclados e programações nessa que é a peça Pet Sounds do disco.
Mas como o próprio título do CD diz, o negócio de Rodrigo Sha é somar, não dividir. E lá estão, incorporados ao seu estilo, parcerias que percorrem um extenso arco da música popular brasileira. A começar por Roberto Menescal, com quem ele divide a autoria de “Só Dá Vontade de Viver”, uma bossa com flautinha e piano de época, guitarra jazzy (do próprio Menescal), a participação do BossaCucaNova e um refrão que é puro anos 00. O velho balanço segue firme em “Não Passou”, composição em parceria com George Israel, um dos fundadores do Kid Abelha (que Rodrigo acompanhou no Acústico MTV), além de seu companheiro no trio de saxes Os Roncadores. A camaradagem rendeu uma das músicas mais refinadas de Todo Mundo.
O departamento parcerias se engrandece ainda mais com “Tempo Fugaz”, um reggae com violão cheio de densidades, já denunciando quem o titular do disco divide a composição: Moska, um dos seus ídolos, junto com outros nomes que sacudiram a MPB nos 90, como Lenine, Carlinhos Brown e Marisa Monte. Quem toca bateria na faixa, por sinal, é João Viana, que, antes de acompanhar o pai Djavan e Cássia Eller, viveu com Rodrigo a aventura de passar dois meses em Amsterdam, no ano de 1998, tocando com a banda de reggae Medusa Dreads. Parceiro de Lenine no sucesso “Hoje Eu Quero Sair Só”, Mu Chebabi é agora o co-autor de “Só (Mulher Invisível)”, bossa que ainda conta com a participação mui especial do percussionista Marcos Suzano – que, nem precisa dizer, esteve com Lenine e Moska em seus trabalhos mais clássicos dos 90. E para fechar a lista das felizes colaborações de Todo Mundo, ainda tem “Semente”, exemplar da mais groovy psicodelia com inspiração nordestina, que o anfitrião compôs com Alexandre Castilho.
E é isso. Para quem conhecia Rodrigo Sha do BossaCucaNova, do Kid Abelha, do Brazilian Lounge, do seu primeiro disco solo (Corpo e Alma por Rodrigo Sha, feito em parceria com a loja Corpo e Alma), das bandas do DJ Marcelinho da Lua e do cantor Rogê, do Dread Lion, do Medusa Dreads ou até mesmo do Idéia Rara (o seu primeiro grupo, com o qual lançou disco em 1996), o que está aqui é justamente o ponto onde ele queria chegar. Todos os Rodrigos, de todas as fases, num trabalho só. Todo Mundo chega pedindo licença e também um pouquinho de atenção para o que tem a dizer esse jovem, mas bem rodado talento da MPB. “A música é o meu veículo nesse mundo, é onde eu transcendo, é a minha realização, é o que eu compartilho com as pessoas”, diz ele. E quem há de recusar o convite para uma audição?

" TODO MUNDO " - Prescription to be quickly forgotten in the world music pop: to play all the fiches in the pop component and to forget themselves to be musical. For the carioca Rodrigo Sha, this nor arrives to be an option, since its business card always was the same: play, play and play. And who will have some doubt, that soon starts to hear this Todo Mundo, CD that congregates all the Rodrigos that habit the same body: the saxofonist, the flautist, the violonist, the composer of letter and music, the arranger, the singer… and the..pop personality that found in music the vehicle to express its ideas. “And who transforms an environment for the art extends/ Cames to know me, comes to close/ Todo Mundo has to see” - the invitation, irresistible, is in the sweet "drum n'bossa" that names record and that also it serves as its better entrance door. Because Todo Mundo is, at the same time, the face of Rodrigo and the picture of the great group who it of course obtained to add to its musical project. Of the master of bossa-nova Roberto Menescal to the DJ Nado Leal, all had been arriving and had finished finding a comfortable place in the musical universe of Rodrigo Sha. “My nature is the mixture”, says it, a great admirer of the work of the saxofonist Branford Marsalis, jazzista of lineage that took virtuosity to pop and vice-versa, in records as today on "Bring on The Night", of Sting.
To be contemporary and to keep the musical wealth basicly conquered with hard study and countless nights in the balls of the life: this is the proposal of Todo Mundo, record produced by Alex Moreira, keyboarder and one of the founders of the BossaCucaNova - band with which Rodrigo comes in recent years running the world. With the aid of Alex, it was stoning the face that it considers to be the main one in the work of any musician: the composition. “All part from there”, says it. “It is where you leave its mark. And the sonority comes all from there.” Thus, except for a recriação pop of the old samba “Se voce Jurar”, of Ismael Silva (that its practically turned his), all the compositions of the record are of Rodrigo - alone or in partnerships.
“Everything that I want/Is to changed myself/Into another person, in another place/Where the freedom is not expertise/Is naivety”, it idealizes the musician in “Sol na Vida”, track that opens Todo Mundo with taste of afternoon in the beach. Violão of samba, the charm of percussion of the Master Laudir de Oliveira and climatic keyboards (thing of who is admiring of the organic electronics of Kruder & Dorfmeister and Thievery Corporation) give the wave in the gone astray “Trem”, another one of the compositions of Rodrigo that dispute a place in the coletânea (still to be made) of Brazilian pop of years 00.
The parade of the composer follows with “Multidão”, track with funk pulsation, but well in the 70's style, with transvers flute, electric piano, scratchs of Nado Leal and high astral message: “and who spoke that exists rules to live”. The climate bossa, heir of the project Brazilian Lounge (that Rodrigo mounted in the start of the decade with the DJ Mam and that relieved one well-succeeded record), resurges in “Outra Lua”, that it has participation of Márcio Menescal, musician of the BossaCucaNova. And the track more one-man-show of Todo Mundo is “Será que eu vou”, that the musician composed entire and in which it play guitar, bandolin and transvers flute, beyond making all vocal - the main one and of the choir. Remained to Alex Moreira to take care of only of the keyboards and programmings in that it is the part Pet Sounds of the record.
But as the proper heading of the CD says, the business of Rodrigo Sha is to add, not to divide. And is there, incorporated to its style, partnerships that cover an extensive arc of Brazilian popular music. To start for Roberto Menescal, with who it divides the authorship of “Só dá vontade de viver”, one bossa with litle flute and epoc piano, guitar jazzy (of the proper Menescal), the participation of the BossaCucaNova and a mask that is pure years 00. The old rocking follows firm in “Não Passou”, composition in partnership with George Israel, one of the founders of the Kid Abelha (that Rodrigo folloied in the MTV Acoustic), beyond its friend in the trio of saxes Os Roncadores. The camaraderie more relieved one of refined musics of Todo Mundo.
The partnerships department grow still more with “Tempo Fugaz”, one reggae with guitar with full densities, already denouncing who the bearer of the record divides the composition: Moska, one of its ídols, together with other names that had shaken the MPB in the 90s, as Lenine, Carlinhos Brown and Marisa Monte. Who burrow battery in the track, by signal, is João Viana, who, before following his father Djavan and Cássia Eller, lived with Rodrigo the adventure to pass two months in Amsterdam, in the year of 1998, playing with the band of reggae Dreads Jellyfish. Partner of Lenine in the success “Hoje eu quero sair só”, Mu Chebabi is now the co-author of “Só (Mulher Invisivel)”, bossa that still counts on the special participation of the percussionist Marcos Suzano - that, nor he needs to say, he was with Lenine and Moska in its more classic works of the 90s. And to close the list of the happy contributions of Todo Mundo, still has “Semente”, unit of groovy more psicodelic with inspiration northeastern, who the host composed with Alexander Castilho.
And is this. For who knew Rodrigo Sha of the BossaCucaNova, of the Kid Abelha, the Brazilian Lounge, its first alone record (Corpo e Alma by Rodrigo Sha, made in partnership with the store Corpo e Alma), of the bands of the DJ Marcelinho of the Moon and the Rogê singer of Dread Lion, the Medusa Dreads or even Idéia Rara (its first group, with which he launched record in 1996), what is here is exactly the point where it wanted to arrive. All the Rodrigos, of the all phases, in a work alone.
